KNOCKED DOWN BY UNIVERSITY CAR
N. H. Winans, a real estate broker, with offices at 467 Empire building, was struck by an outbound University st. car at Third av. and Cherry st., shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. Had it not been for the fender, Winans probably would have been ground to death beneath the wheels.
Constable James Shannon was the first to reach Winans' side. The constable assisted Winans to a nearby drug store, where a lacerated head and arm were dressed.
