PIONEER DROPS DEAD
Corliss P. Stone, pioneer and prominent capitalist, dropped dead shortly after 4 o'clock yesterday [09/14/1906] afternoon as he was leaving the Holyoke block. Death was due to heart disease.
Mr. Stone in the early days was very prominent in public life, serving as a member of the first city council for three years. In 1872, he served as major, and during the administration of Harry White in 1890, served on the board of police commissioners.
Besides the widow, one son, Corliss L. Stone, survives, and he is at present at Coeur d'Alene lake.
