The Putman family came to Klickitat County in 1883. James held the position of Justice of the Peace in Goldendale for 20 years and served as City Clerk. Sarah died on August 29, 1890 in Klickitat County. James married Margaret Ann [Morrill - Remore] on October 14, 1918. Margaret died in 1924. On August 15, 1925, J.R. Putman married Miriam E. [Fellows - McDonald] in Goldendale. Miriam died only three years later on December 27, 1928 in Goldendale. James passed away on September 19, 1933 at the age of 91 in Goldendale. [Researcher Note: Sarah is buried in the Hartland Cemetery in Klickitat County. Miriam's body was sent back to her former home in Oregon City for burial.] |
