SCHRADER, Bert L. - Wholesale lumberman Bert L. Schrader of Bellingham, president of B. L. Schrader Lumber for 40 years, died Wednesday (Jan. 10, 1990) in a Southern California hospital. He was 66. At his request, no services will be held. He was born April 13, 1923, in Seattle and lived in Bellingham since 1972. Schrader, of 604 Bayside Road, was a member of the Bellingham Yacht Club and the Occidental Lodge in Ballard. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Schrader of the family home; two daughters, Barbara Lambro of Federal Way, and Ann Schrader of Santa Cruz, Calif; one grandchild; and other relatives. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

SCHRADER, Jennie, age 68 who resided at the Alamo Apts., passed away in her home on Friday, June 2, (1961) following an extended illness. Mrs. Schrader was a former resident of Butte and Billings, Montana, having resided in Bellingham for the past 18 years. She was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, also a member of Hadassah and the Beth Israel Orthopedic. She was a very active member in the Jewish Community. She leaves to survive 1 son, Arthur, in Burlington, her daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Kausman of Seattle, her brother, Ben Gordon of Bellingham, 2 sisters, Mrs. Esther Brady of Auburn, and Mrs. Sydney Cohen of Los Angeles, 2 grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. Rev. F. S. Gartner will conduct funeral services on Sunday, June 4 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bingham & Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Beth Israel Cemetery.

SCHRADER, Ruth M., 70, who operated a wholesale lumber business with her husband for 35 years, died Tuesday, Jan. 14 1992, in Rancho Mirage, Calif., where she had made her winter home. Her Bellingham home was a 604 Bayside Road. She was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Mount Vernon to Carl and Ada Kallstrom. She had lived in Bellingham for 20 years. She was an active partner with her husband, Bert Schrader, in B. L. Schrader Inc. wholesale lumber. They operated the business for 35 years before retiring four years ago. He died two years ago. Mrs. Schrader was a member of Lake Padden Women's Golf Club and the Bellingham Yacht Club. Survivors include daughters Ann Schrader of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Barbara Lambro of Quincy; a sister, Shirley Omdal of Burlington; a brother, Glen Kallstrom of Ephrata; and one grandson. At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

SCHRAG, Florence Mae, age 31, a resident of Richland, passed away there Tuesday, December 7, (1948). Surviving relatives include her husband, Vernon G., her son, Vernon D., parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Brewster, of Rt. 2, Ferndale, 4 sisters, Mrs. V. J. Schrag of Soap Lake, Mrs. Walter Johnson of Ferndale, Mrs. Emma Radd of Moose Lake, Minn., and Betty Brewster of Ferndale, also 2 brothers, Durward and Morris Brewster of Timmer, North Dakota. Funeral services will be conducted at the Monroe Chapel, Ferndale, Monday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. C. W. Wheeler officiating. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.

SCHRAM, Garret, age 85, of 1215 Jersey St. passed away in a local hospital Saturday, March 31, (1956) following a lingering illness. Mr. Schram had resided in Bellingham for the past 20 years and leaves no known surviving relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist and Jerns Funeral Home. Interment Bayview.

SCHRAM, Louise A. - Private graveside services for Louise A., age 75 of 2410 Moore St. will be Thurs. Aug. 27, 3 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, Wa. with Rev. Charles Dion officiating. Mrs. Schram passed away Tues. Aug. 25, 1981. She had lived in Vancouver, Wa. for many years and resided in Bellingham for the past 2 months. She is survived by 1 nephew, Warren & wife Verna Gardner of City; 1 niece, Patricia & husband Thomas Neuss of Seattle; 1 brother, William & wife Wilma Keller of Bothell; 3 sisters, Emma & husband Melvin Sander, Minnie Keller all of Bellingham, Ella & husband Orren Moak of Marysville. SCHRAMER, Margaret N., "Bonnie" 82, died April 13, (2004) at her home in Sudden Valley, Washington. She lived for many years in Lakewood, and Desert Hot Springs, California. She was born Margaret Ellen Naughton in Geneva, Illinois. Raised in St. Charles, Illinois, she was educated at Mount St. Mary's Academy in St. Charles. On December 25, 1941, she married Joseph H. Schramer of Batavia, Illinois. married for sixty-one years, they lived in Illinois, South Carolina, California, and Washington and raised nine children. She was a civilian clerk for the U.S. Army in the 1940s. In 1966 she became a real estate broker and eventually a Vice-President for a mortgage loan company. She was an avid reader, adventurous cook, talented painter, and engaging storyteller. She was a founding member of the Reginas, a Catholic women's charity in Lakewood, California. Her husband Joseph H. died in 2003. She is survived by sons James J. (Julia) of Youngstown, Ohio, Stephen E. (Mary) of Camano Island, Washington, Daniel T. (Cathy) of Bellingham, Washington, Michael J. (Debbie) of Bellingham, Joseph A. (Heidi) of Bellingham, Patrick W. (Sheri) of Ukiah, California, Richard A. of Willits, California; daughters Mary M. Bleedorn of Poulsbo, Washington, and Laura (Steve) Guidas of San Juan Capistrano, California; a brother, James B. (Mary) Naughton of St. Charles, Illinois; a sister Nancy (Albert) Stopka of Panama City, Florida; eighteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Visitation at Westford Funeral Home in Bellingham, Washington will be held on Friday, April 16th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at Westford's. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 20th at St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic Church, Desert Hot Springs, California followed by burial at Desert Memorial Park and a reception. SCHRAMM, Bernard, age 83 years, passed away at the family home, 2601 West Street, Wednesday morning May 29, (1946). Mr. Schramm had been a resident of this community for the past 60 years, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by one son, Charles Schramm, of Sitka, Alaska. Private funeral services will be conducted from the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, Friday, May 31, at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. M. A. P. Keller, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation will follow.

SCHRAMM, Charles, age 57, of Sitka, Alaska, passed away suddenly at his home Friday, March 9, (1951). Mr. Schramm was born and raised in Bellingham. He had been a resident of [text missing] was a member of the Mt. Vestovia Masonic Lodge in Sitka and the Sitka Elks Lodge. Private services were conducted Saturday, March 17, under the direction of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home. Cremation.

SCHRAMM, Josephine, age 77 years, passed away at the family home, 2601 West Street, Thursday morning, April 24, (1945). Mrs. Schramm had lived in this community for the past 56 years. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Bernhard (Ben) Schramm; one son, Charles Schramm, of Sitka, Alaska; one brother, Mr. Charles Rigling, of Oroville, California; three sisters, Mrs. Celia Carlson, of Seattle, Mrs. Elsie Wiedemann, of Kirkland, and Mrs. Mary Peterson, of Sitka, Alaska; six nephews in the service and many nieces. Private funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. from the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. M. A. P. Keller, of the St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating, followed by cremation.

SCHREIBER, Edna E., 93, of Yelm, WA passed away Mon., Feb. 6, (1984) in Bellingham. She is survived by one son, James W. LaForce of Fresno, CA and one daughter Audrey Harmon of city; four grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren & three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held in Olympia. SCHREIBER, Emma Sophia, age 95, of Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 1992 in Bellingham. She was born on Jan. 20, 1897 in Bellingham to Alfred and Anna (Stevenson) Dahlberg. She was one of 12 brothers and sisters who all preceded her in death. She was a Ferndale pioneer and resident until age 90 at which time she moved to Bellingham to be with her family. She was an active member of Evergreen Community Church and worked for many years at Kelly-Farquhar Cannery. She was an avid fisherwoman and outdoors person who loved both animals and people. She was a member of Bellingham Senior Citizens. She was married in Ferndale on Dec. 24, 1924 to Adolph Schreiber who preceded her in death in 1935. She is survived by two daughters Lillian Lancaster and husband Bill of Japan and Gloria Leque of Bellingham, seven grandchildren, Sheryl Takai, Debbie Hennry, Lynn Leque Littleton, David Lancaster, and Mark Leque, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service was held at Enterprise Cemetery with Pastor Wilfred Gunderson officiating. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 14, 7:00 p.m. at Evergreen Comm. SCHREIFELS, Arthur G. - Vigil services for Arthur G. "Art" Schreifels, 67, of Mount Vernon, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church in Mount Vernon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Thomas Allsopp officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery. Mr. Schreifels died Wednesday (May 8, 1991) at Skagit Valley Hospital and Health Center. He was born May 22, 1923 in Richmond, Minn., and graduated from Eden Valley High School in Eden Valley, Minn., in 1940. During World War II he served as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army's 17th Airborne Division. He attended Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn., and he sold real estate in Great Falls, Mont. Mr. Schreifels married Thelma McManus on May 12, 1947, in Laurel, Mont. He came to Seattle in 1959 and sold real estate. He moved to Sedro Woolley in 1971 and to Mount Vernon in 1976. He was a partner with Gene Pearce and Associates, owned Bi-Century Realty/Factory Homes and taught at Skagit Valley College. He was a member if Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, fourth-degree member of Boulet Council No. 2126, Knights of Columbus, Mount Vernon Elks Lodge No. 1604, past president of the Immaculate Conception School Board of Education and past president of the Skagit County Board of Realtors. Survivors include his wife Thelma, of the family home; nine daughters, Connie Meyer of Bellingham, Linda Pettit and Vicki Huizenga, both of Everson, Leah Meissner of Sedro Woolley, Diane Bee, Joan Ruiz, Loretta Ridenhour and Kelly Schreifels, all of Mount Vernon, and Cathi Kison of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, Lawrence "Larry" Schreifels and John Schreifels, both of Mount Vernon; his mother Cecelia Schreifels of Saint Cloud, Minn.; four sisters, Juletta Florian of Dickinson, N.D., Loraine Montesano of Denver, Ceil Lawson of Tempe, Ariz., and Marjorie Stinton of Big Lake, Minn.; two brothers, George Schreifels of Pinole, Calif., and Matthew Schreifels of New Brighton, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. SCHRIPSEMA, Jacob, 83, of Lynden, died at his home on Friday, Jan. 6, 1994. A memorial service was held at Mountain View Christian Reformed Church on Monday with Rev. Robert Vermeer officiating. Burial preceded in Ten Mile Cemetery. Mr. Schripsema was born on Dec. 27, 1911 in Chicago the son of Johan and Geziena Schuringa Schripsema. On June 28, 1938 he was married to Alice D. Hommes and together they moved to Southern California in 1948. In 1951 they moved to Michigan for 1 1/2 years and then returned to California. They came to Whatcom County from Modesto, Calif. in 1989 to be near family. Jacob had various occupations, primarily in accounting and management and including operation of a poultry ranch. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Senior Citizens Evergreen and Old Timers Leagues. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice of the family home; two sons, James Schripsema and wife Pam of Oakdale, Calif. and Robert Schripsema and wife Lynda of Lynden; daughter Nancy Kay Brown and husband James of Turlock, Calif.; sister Anne Schripsema of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother Johan Schripsema and wife Doris of Tinley Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services and arrangements were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

SCHRIVER, Charles E., age 72, of 2610 Eldridge Ave. passed away in a local hospital Saturday, January 27, (1962). Mr. Schriver was a life resident of Bellingham and was a retired shingle weaver. He leaves to survive Allan Watson of Great Falls, Mont. Funeral services will be conducted Feb. 2, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Wood officiating. SCHROCK, Elisha B., Dr., age 67, formerly of Seattle, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. C. Dyke, of Route 2, Lynden, Monday, March 11, (1946). Deceased had resided in this community for the past six months and was a retired physician and surgeon. He was a member of B.P.O.E. No. 92 of Seattle, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and American Medical Assn. Surviving relatives are the widow, Mary, of Oroville, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Dyke, of Route 2, Lynden, and two sisters, Mrs. C. L. Clark, of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. H. C. Rockwell, of Akron, Ohio. The remains were forwarded by Harlow-Hollingsworth to the Butterworth Mortuary at Seattle for final rites and disposition.

SCHRODER, Clarence Madison, age 88 of Rt. 1, Lynden, passed away in a local rest home Friday, Oct. 27, (1961) following a brief illness. Mr. Schroder had been a resident of Lynden since 1912 and was employed in the grocery department of the Lynden Department Store from 1918 to 1944 and was a member of the Lynden Lodge No. 56 F.A.M. Surviving are his wife, Emma, at home, 1 daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Hill, of Seattle and 1 grandson, Linsey L. Hill of Santa Clara, California. Also 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, Tuesday, October 31 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Updike officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

SCHRODER, Ray L., age 60 of Seaside, Calif., passed away in a local hospital, Saturday, July 7, (1962) following a short illness. Mr. Schroder was a retired railroad man and was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. Survived by his wife, Alice, 1 son, Ray W. and 1 daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Barb and 5 grandchildren, all of Seaside, Calif. The remains will be forwarded to Watsonville, Calif., for services and interment under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

SCHROEDER, Abe C. (Doc), age 79, of 701 Edson St., Lynden, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 1984 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, Bellingham, with Dr. James L. Mason officiating. Burial followed in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Schroeder had been retired for nine years, was a registered massage therapist, and was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. He was born in Inman, Kansas, Oct. 31, 1904 and had been a resident of Lynden since 1950. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, of Lynden; two sons, Robert Schroeder and his wife Elsie of Portland, Ore., and Larry Schroeder and his wife Ilene of Ferndale; one brother; Pete Schroeder of Abbotsford, B.C.; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

SCHROEDER, Earl Alvin, 62, 2300 14th St., Bellingham, WA passed away at his residence June 13, 1991. He was born Sunday, October 14, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Bellingham four years ago. He worked as an air traffic controller, crew scheduling and security for Western Airline in Arizona and Utah. He liked to play the electronic organ, redecorate and work with his hands. Survivors are his wife Mary Lou Schroeder of the family home; daughters Deana L. Sainz of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Markland of Dayton, OH; brother Leroy Schroeder of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren and two nieces. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 1991 in the Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frederick Hutchinson officiating. Arrangements and services under the direction of Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

SCHROEDER, Eda S., No. 706 Mt. Baker Apts., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, December 28, (1963). Mrs. Schroeder was a four year resident of Bellingham, and was the widow of the late George B. Schroeder, who preceded her in death in 1961. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Louise Freeman, Ottawa, Ill.; Mrs. Esther Albin, Eureka Springs, Ark., and Mrs. M. Schaar of Donner's Grove, Illinois. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted Thursday, January 2 at 4:30 p.m. The remains will be forwarded to San Diego, Calif., for entombment in Cyprus View Mausoleum.

SCHROEDER, Emmy Lou - News has come from Ft. Myers, Florida of the death on October 12, (1976) of a former long time Bellingham resident, Mrs. Glenn W. Schroeder (Emmy Lou Reynolds), 85. As Mrs. George H. Reynolds, she came to Bellingham as a bride in 1926 from Seattle where she had been Supervisor of Music for the Seattle Elementary Schools. During the 27 years she resided in Bellingham, Mrs. Reynolds served the Meridian School District as teacher and as principal of Meridian Grade School (now the Irene Reither School). Mrs. Reynolds also taught for many years at Harmony Grade School in the Mt. Baker District. In 1953, Mrs. Reynolds married Glenn W. Schroeder, the widower of a girlhood friend. She has made her home in Illinois or Florida since that time. Surviving the deceased are her husband and one daughter, Mrs. James E. Shook (Persis Reynolds) of Tacoma, four grandsons, one granddaughter, and five great-grandchildren all living in the Tacoma area. Her newest great-granddaughter was born the morning Mrs. Schroeder died and has been named for her. Her survivors also include three step-children, eleven step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bellingham and the Daughters of the King of that parish. She was also a charter member of Bellingham's Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a woman's educational honorary sorority. Services following cremation will be in Christ Episcopal Church in Tacoma and she will be interred in the church's columbarium.

SCHROEDER, Harold Ennis, age 62, 1277 Loni Lane, Ferndale, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1993. He was born on August 9, 1931 to Harry and Linda Schroeder in Northeim, Montana. When he was two, the family moved to Deer Park, Wash. From there, they moved to Lynden and later lived in Ferndale. Harold attended Ferndale High School for two years. As a young man, Schroeder worked as a carpenter, helping to build the Bellingham Library and the Ross Dam power house. During that time he met Susan Friesen of Point Whitehorn. They were married on August 21, 1953 and they moved to Fresno, Calif., where he continued his education, studying to be a minister. In 1955 he began his ministry as a pastor in Los Angeles. He has also pastored churches in Denver, Eugene, Ore., San Jose, Calif., and Visalia, Calif. Harold and Susan moved from Visalia to Ferndale in 1979 to become the first pastor of Good News Fellowship Church. He has been the senior pastor there for the past 14 years. Schroeder served the community in many ways. During the Persian Gulf War, he was chaplain for the support group in Bellingham. He served as a support officer for the Bellingham Fire Department for the last five years. He has officiated at many weddings and memorial services for people of this community. He always had a knack for personalizing every service. He also was an active member of the Ferndale Rotary Club for the past 5 years, where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Harold was respected in the community because he tried to practice what he preached. Harold is survived by his wife, Susan: his children, Steve and Penni Schroeder of Bellingham, Kathy and Ted Nussbaum of Eugene, Ore., Starla and Nolan Voth of Lynden; seven grandchildren; his father, Harry Schroeder of Bellingham; and two sisters, Mary Eytzen of Ferndale and Joyce Warkentin of Kingsburg, Calif. Viewing will take place at Moles Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 8-9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Good News Fellowship Church (1252 W. Axton Rd.) on Friday at 1 p.m. Private family graveside services will be held at Enterprise Cemetery. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale.

SCHROEDER, Henry R., age 85, Rt. 2, Ferndale, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Friday May 1, (1964). He had been a resident of the Ferndale community for the past 15 years and was a member of the Glendale Mennonite Church. Survivors include his wife, Eva; 2 daughters, Mrs. Helen Schmidt, Peabody, Kansas, Miss Margaret Schroeder and Miss Lydia Schroeder both of Bellingham; 3 sons, Harry Schroeder, Ferndale, Edward Schroeder, Bellingham and Jacob Schroeder, Silver Springs, Md.; numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted in the Glendale Mennonite Church Monday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Suderman and Rev. Myron Hilty officiating. SCHROEDER, Hugo B., 91, 6941 Elk Road, Ferndale, passed away Mon. Nov. 18, 1991 in Bellingham. He was born Dec. 1, 1899 in Hutchinson, Minn. to John and Ida Schroeder. He was a Whatcom County resident for 51 years; was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors Son William and wife Alice Schroeder of Ferndale and granddaughters Sara & Sherie Schroeder. SCHROEDER, Isa M., age 89, formerly of 1403 I St., passed away Wed., Feb. 18, (1976). Mrs. Schroeder was a 33 year resident of this community and a member of Central Lutheran Church. Surviving 1 daughter, Mrs. Bernina Stone, City; 2 grandchildren. Services Friday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, Rev. Leonard C. Ericksen officiating. Interment Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

SCHROEDER, Linda, 86, of 1509 E. Victor St., Bellingham, passed away in Bellingham on Thursday, Oct. 1, 1992. She was born to Cornelius and Justina Epp on Oct. 10, 1905 in Moundridge, Kan. She married Harry H. Schroeder on Sept. 17, 1925 at Goessel, Kan. She was a 50-year resident of Whatcom County and a member of Good News Fellowship Church. She loved gardening and raised dahlias, gladiolus and vegetables. She was an avid fan of sacred music. Survivors include her husband Harry of Bellingham; a son, Harold Schroeder and wife Susan of Ferndale; two daughters, Joyce Workentin and husband Leonard of Kingsburg, Calif. and Mary Eytzen and husband Bob of Ferndale; a brother, Marvin Epp and wife Annie of Lynden; three sisters, Margaret Unrau of Hesston, Kan., Wilma Lietzke of Ferndale and Elva Schmidt and husband Clarence of Ferndale; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. A graveside service was held Monday at Enterprise Cemetery. A memorial service followed at Good News Fellowship Church with pastors Harold Schroeder, Steve Schroeder and LaMont Schmidt officiating.

SCHROEDER, Lydia, age 73, of 1251 Nevada St., Bellingham, passed away Fri. Jan. 17th, (1986) in a local nursing home. Born in Marion County, Kansas April 24, 1912. She was a nurses aide at St. Luke's Hospital, a Bellingham resident for 40 years. Survivors include 1 sister, Margaret Schroeder; 2 brothers, Harry Schroeder & wife Linda, Ed Schroeder & wife Mary Jane, all of Bellingham; numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Tues., Jan. 21st, 10 a.m. at the Bellingham Alliance Church with Pastors James Seim & Harold Schroeder officiating. Burial at Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Moles Funeral Home Monday 5 - 8 p.m.

SCHROEDER, Margaret R., age 92 of Bellingham, 49 year Whatcom County resident, died August 19, 1997. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Mary Jane Schroeder of Bellingham, and numerous other relatives. Miss Schroeder was born November 28, 1904 in Goessel, KS, to Henry and Eva (Schmidt) Schroeder. She spent her entire life demonstrating hospitality by helping needy people, preparing meals, and extending temporary room and board. She also held Bible study classes in her home, and was an active supporter of worldwide missions including Billy Graham ministries. For twenty-five years she worked alongside her sister Lydia at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, August 22, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, August 22, 1:15 p.m. at Enterprise Cemetery with a Memorial Service following at Northside Community Church, 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Schroeder and Rev. Joseph Barth officiating. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home, Ferndale.

SCHROEDER, Norman M., Colonel, age 64, of 1873 North Shore Rd., passed away Mon., March 29, (1976). Mr. Schroeder had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 15 years and was a retired colonel in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1965. A veteran of the WWII and the Korean War, a member of the American Legion and the Retired Officers Association. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Bellie Schroeder of the family home; a daughter, Mrs. Salley Bruton of Novato, Calif., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m. within the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Anderson of the Firs officiating. Interment Bay View Cemetery.

SCHROEDER, Raymond H., Jr. age 26 of Deming passed away suddenly Saturday, June 26, (1965). A resident of Whatcom County for the past 8 years, he was employed by the Zender Brothers Logging Co. He was a member of the Deming Loggers Association. Surviving are his wife, Mildred; 2 sons, Raymond and Andrew, 1 daughter, Julie Rae, all at home; 2 brothers, Lonny of Deming and Richard of Santa Ana, Calif.; 2 sisters, Mrs. JoAnne Hernandez of Omaha, Nebraska and Miss Donna Schroeder of Santa Ana, Calif. His mother, Mrs. Charlotte Schroeder of Santa Ana, Calif.; his father, Raymond, Sr. of Deloit, Iowa; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder of Charter Oak, Iowa, and Mrs. Berdina Brown of Stockton, California. Funeral services will be held at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden Thursday, July 1, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Higbee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

SCHROEDER, Raymond H., 80, of 5157 Water St., Deming, died Sunday (Aug. 4, 1991) at St. Joseph Hospital South Campus. Mr. Schroeder, a farmer, was born May 4, 1911, in Charter Oak, Iowa, to Henry and Amanda Moore Schroeder. He moved to Whatcom County about four years ago. At his request, there will be no service. Survivors include daughters, Joanne Schroeder and Donna Schroeder, both of California; son, Rick Schroeder of California and Lonny Schroeder of Deming; four brothers, one sister, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

SCHROEDER, Sander, age 39 of Rt. 1, Custer, passed away Sunday, May 6, (1956) at a local hospital. Mr. Schroeder had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 8 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Kulshan Post No. 154, American Legion and attended Glendale Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen; four sons, Kenneth, Robert, Donald and Stanley, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Schroeder of Ferndale; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Schmidt of Peabody, Kansas, Miss Margaret Schroeder and Miss Lydia Schroeder, both of Bellingham; three brothers, Harry of Ferndale, Edward of Custer, Jacob of Silver Springs, Maryland; numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of the Monroe Mortuary at the Glendale Mennonite Church, Friday, May 11 at 1:30 with Rev. Regier officiating.

SCHROEDER, Sarah - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Schroeder, age 75, who died suddenly at her home on Tuesday, May 8, (1984) were conducted on Thursday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lynden with Rev. Dick Vriesman, Dr. James Mason, Rev. Benham Pruett and Rev. Gary Duerksen officiating. Burial followed in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Schroeder, of 701 Edson Street, was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma on October 3, 1908 and moved to Lynden from Abbotsford, B.C. in 1950. She was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church in Bellingham and had also been active in the Light House Mission Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Larry and wife Ilene of Ferndale and Robert and wife Elsie of Portland, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Barbara, Robert, Jim, Tammy, Jeff, Ron, Todd and Tonya; two brothers, Sam Duerksen of North Surrey, B.C., and John Duerksen of Abbotsford, B.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Entz of Abbotsford, Mrs. Esther Pierce and Mrs. Martha Miller, both of Rolla, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Abe "Doc" Schroeder in January of this year. Funeral services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

SCHROEDER, Sharon - Services for 1958 Ferndale High School graduate Sharon Schroeder Anderson, 47, were March 4 in Laguna Beach, Calif. Ms. Anderson died February 24 in her Long Beach, Calif., home. She was born Nov. 12, 1940, in Kansas and moved to Whatcom County in 1948. After graduating from Ferndale High she moved to California. She was the credit manager for the Port of Los Angeles. Survivors include her father, Everett Olson of Eureka, Kan.; mother, Mary Jane Schroeder of Bellingham; stepfather, Ed Schroeder of Bellingham; a brother, Jim Schroeder of Bellingham; two sister, Lura Lee Edquist of Boring, Ore., and Pat Starcher of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

SCHROEDER, Zachariah - Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for Zachariah Wolfgang Schroeder, infant son of Andy and Sherrie Schroeder of 911 North Shore Road. He died Monday (July 21, 1986). Pastor R. L. Christensen of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate the services at Jones Funeral Home. In addition to the parents, survivors include grandparents Melvin and Bonnie Vogelzang of Ferndale and Millie Karrer of California; great-grandparents Ray and Betty Fowler of Ferndale, Charolette Schroeder of California, Raymond Schroeder of Iowa and Anna Vogelzang of California; and numerous aunts and uncles. Cremation will be at Greenacres Crematorium. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

SCHRUMP, Clarence Earle, age 29 years, passed away at his home, 811 Ellsworth Avenue, Tuesday, February 12, (1946). Clarence had spent practically his entire life in Bellingham. He was a graduate of the Fairhaven High School, class of '33, had seen 1 1/2 years' service in the Merchant Marine Army Transport Service, and at the time of his death was a welder at the Bellingham Iron Works, Marine Division. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Bellingham Aerie No. 31, and of the Boilermakers & Iron Shipbuilders' Union of America, Local No. 709. He is survived by his wife, Linda Jean, and one son, Edward Earle of the home. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Schrump, of Bellingham. One sister, Mrs. Aleta M. McCall, Bellingham, and many other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted from the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home Friday, February 15, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lester Moore, of the First Evangelical Church officiating. Interment, Bay View Cemetery.

SCHRUMP, Earle, age 57, of 1145 Franklin, passed away suddenly at a local hospital Monday, January 22, (1951). Mr. Schrump had been a resident of this community for the past 32 years and was a member of the A.O.U.W. and the Teamsters Union. Surviving relatives include his wife, Ethel; aa daughter, Mrs. Aleta McCall; and four grandchildren, Linda Jean and Edward Earle Schrump and Barbara Ann and Janice Aleta McCall, all of Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Cantrell, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Margaret Clark, of Seattle; many other relatives. Services will be conducted Thursday, January 25, at 1 p.m. within the Cathedra Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Calhoun, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiating. Interment in Bay View Cemetery.
