QUADE, Henry F., 88, of 2520 Grant street, died at a local hospital Sunday (February 25, 1951). A resident of this community for the past six years, Mr. Quade was a retired Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad engineer, having served that company for 50 years. He was a member of the Missoula, Mont., Lodge No. 58, F. & A. M. Funeral services will be conducted by Elder R. J. Winders, Tuesday, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth. The remains will be forwarded to Spokane for interment. Included among the survivors are the widow Barbara, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Candler, of Tacoma; three sons, Harold, of Oakland, Calif., Lester, of Tacoma Park, Washington, D. C., and Walter, of Spokane; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

QUEEN, John B., age 72 of Blaine, passed away October 27, 1997 in Blaine. Mr. Queen was born March 9, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence W. and Rachel Hildreth Queen. Mr. Queen came to Whatcom County in 1971 from California, was a life member of the American Legion in Blaine and was an auto mechanic. He is survived by his wife Eileen of the family home; his son, Joseph and wife Magen Queen of Everett, WA; and daughter, Dorothy and her husband David Crandell of Enderby, B.C., Canada; and sister, Norma Stull of Harrison, MI; three grandson(s), Justin, Bradley and Nicholas Crandell. A Graveside Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 31, 1997, at Enterprise Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the Blaine American Legion Post #86. The services and arrangements are under the direction of The Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel of Blaine.

QUEEN, Margaret Curtis - A memorial service for Margaret Curtis Queen of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dennis LaMance officiating. Her ashes will be place in Hawthorne Memorial Park. Mrs. Queen died Monday, May 12, 1997, at a local nursing home. She was 90. Born July 29, 1906, to Roderick and Roberta McCrimmon in Abbotsford, B.C., she was raised and attended schools there. She married E. L. Curtis in 1930 in Bellingham; he died in 1949. She married Homer Queen on May 10, 1952, in Mount Vernon; he died in 1996. A registered nurse, Mrs. Queen attended school at St. Luke's Hospital in Bellingham. She lived on the Olympic Peninsula and in Concrete, Burlington and Warm Beach before moving to Bellingham in 1996. Mrs. Queen was a member of Viewcrest Assembly of God Church in Mount Vernon, Stanwood Assembly of God Church and St. Luke's Alumni. Survivors include daughter Roberta Strickland of Ferndale, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and other relatives.

QUINN, Elsie Leadbetter Alff was born September 29, 1912, in Bellingham, WA, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at a Bellingham hospital. Elsie was the child of Mary and Joseph Leadbetter and grew up on Cottonwood Island, now known as Sinclair Island. Elsie was married to Clarence T. Alff and had two sons, Laurence E. and James E. Alff. Elsie was widowed in 1947 and later married Theodore C. Quinn. She and Ted enjoyed a long and happy marriage until Ted's death in 2003. Elsie worked hard to raise her sons and throughout her life was well known in the Bellingham restaurant business as the owner-operator of Wag's and Elsie's, the Garden of Eaten, and the Twin Gables restaurants. Surviving Elsie are her sons, Laurence and James; her grandchildren, Theodore and Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie's family would like to thank the caregivers, Option Care, Dr. Sun, and the staff of St. Joseph Hospital for their compassionate services. QUINN, Rollie E., age 57 years, of Everson Rt. 1, passed away at his home Monday, March 30, (1953) following a short illness. He had been a resident of that district for the past eight years and operated the Quinn Corner Grocery and Service Station. Mr. Quinn was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two daughters, Mrs. James Brady, of Tacoma; and Donna, at home; three sons, Brice of Burlington, Dale of Los Angeles, and Thomas of Rt. 1, Everson, and seven grandchildren. The remains rest at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Funeral announcements will be made later.

QUINTRALL, Dusty Blu - A memorial service for Dusty Blu Quintrall of Ferndale will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7053 Enterprise Road, Ferndale. Dusty died in a snowboarding accident on Mount Baker Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998. He was 17. He was born July 31, 1980, to Gary and Babe Quintrall in Bellingham. A home-schooled student, he worked at Towner Press in Bellingham and enjoyed snowboarding, playing basketball, and raising exotic birds. Survivors include his parents; brothers, Aaron Quintrall and Zachariah Quintrall; grandparents Judi Franciscotti of Colorado, Dick and Faye McDonald of Arlington, Gary and Shauna Quintrall of Custer, and Marial and Frank Rost of California; great-grandparents Zola May Franciscotti of Ferndale and Al and Mary Turek of California; uncles and aunts Tina and Steve Martin of Everson, Tauni and Steve Vaughan of Ferndale, Dana and Al Piper of Ferndale, Micah Quintrall and Hayley Quintrall of Custer, Terry and Mary Quintrall of Mt. QUIRT, Ellen Mary, age 87, passed away December 25, 1996 in Bellingham. Preceded in death by her husband Bill and daughter Kathleen, she is survived by daughter Nancy & husband Jack Westford of Bellingham; grandchildren, Brent Phillips of CA, Brenda, Rob and A. J. Westford of Bellingham. Funeral Services were held Jan. 2 in Seattle. Graveside committal has been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 6, 1:30 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham. QUIST, James M., age 56 passed away December 24, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born May 17, 1948 in Bellingham, WA to Erma and Jack Quist. He graduated from Blaine High School in 1968 and was a lifetime resident of Blaine. Jim attended Skagit Valley College and began working for U.S. Customs in 1970. He retired in 2001 after 31 years of service. Jim loved his family, especially his wife and son. He also loved a good joke, sci-fi and his pets. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara of Blaine; son, Christopher of Blaine; parents Erma and Jack Quist of Blaine; sister, Lonna-Kay and husband Garry Armstrong of Surrey, B.C.; niece, Elizabeth Armstrong and Bob Dupas and their daughters, Jessica and Rebecca of Hope, B.C.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carole and Frank Boyko of Puyallup; niece, Heather Boyko of Japan; niece and husband, Jennifer and Kevin Thompson of Kent; brother-in-law, Bruce Bock of Kent and many other extended family and special friends. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Custer United Methodist Church, 2996 Main St., Custer, WA with Rev. Bobbi Virta officiating.
