HAAGENSON, Lucille M. - Graveside services for Ferndale resident Lucille M. Haagenson will take place Thursday in Chicago. Mrs. Haagenson, 93, of 3404 Unick Road, died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born May 17, 1898, in Illinois. She moved to Ferndale from Chicago a year ago to liver with her granddaughter, Corrine Unick. Mrs. Haagenson is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Mattson of Fairbanks, Alaska; a son, Robert Haagenson of River Forest, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

HAAGSMA, Gary G., age 23, of Orange City, Iowa, died of natural causes April 16, 1988, at his parents' home in Sedro-Woolley. He was born Dec. 22, 1964, in Sedro-Woolley. He was a 1983 graduate of Lynden Christian High School and a 1987 graduate of Northwest College in Orange City, Iowa. He had been working at Casey's in Orange City and was a member of the Mount Vernon Christian Reformed Church. He is survived by his parents, Henry and Jill Haagsma of Sedro-Woolley; three brothers, Harvey and Stan of Sedro-Woolley and John of New York; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, evening, April 20, at Northwestern College. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21 at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Christian Reformed Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kern Funeral Home.

HAAK, Cora - Visitation for Mrs. Cora Haak of Lynden will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, May 29, at 2:15 p.m. in Monumenta Cemetery followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. Dick Vriesman officiating. Mrs. Haak died at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden on Saturday, May 25, (2002). She was 87. Cora was the daughter of John and Ida (Bouma) Timmer and was born in Hull, North Dakota on December 29, 1914. She lived in Hull until moving to Lynden in 1934 and was married to Gerrit Haak on June 25, 1941. A home maker, for many years she also supervised the lunch room at the former Lynden Auction. A charter member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Mrs. Haak also taught Sunday School, was a member of the Naomi Circle and with Norma Wiersma-Bosman started the catering committee at Bethel. She had been active in the Lynden Christian Mother's Club and as a volunteer played piano for many years at the Christian Health Care Center. Through all these activities her priority was still that of a mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband Gerrit in 1990, sister Ella Huisingh and brother John Timmer. Cora is survived by her children Ken Haak and wife Mary Jane, Larry Haak and wife Diane and Marilyn Haak all of Lynden and Linda Steve of Brigham City, Utah; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; brother Harvey Timmer and wife Mary of Lynden, sister-in-law Cora Timmer and brother and sister-in-law Al and Harriet Haak all of Lynden and numerous other relatives. Services are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Lynden.

HAAK, Dennis Allen, infant son of Allen and Kim Haak, 8835 Vinup Rd., Lynden, passed away in Childrens Orthopedic Hospital, Seattle, Wa. on September 10, 1980. He is survived by his parents, Allen and Kim; grandparents Al and Etta Haak of Lynden, and Carter and Shirley Huff of Osceola, Iowa; great-grandparents, Mrs. Hattie Cleveringa on Linton, North Dakota, Carrol and Allie Munyon and Florence Munyon, all of Osceola, Iowa; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 13, 1980, 10:00 a.m. at the Monumenta Cemetery, Lynden, with Rev. Ron Slater officiating. Funeral services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

HAAK, Elizabeth - Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Haak, who died on Saturday, Dec. 30, (1978) were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Robert Vermeer officiating. Mrs. Haak, 76, of 200 Grover Street No. 10, was born in Emmons County, North Dakota and resided in Hull, North Dakota for many years before moving to Lynden inn 1968. A member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, she is survived by a son, Alvin, of Lynden; two daughters, Mrs. Edith (Clarence) Plagerman of Everson and Mrs. Lois (William) Hollaar of Crestwood, Illinois; 13 grand and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Peter, John and Dalton Droog of Pollock, South Dakota; eight sisters, Mrs. Anna Haak of Linton, North Dakota, Mrs. Gertrude Wolterink of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mrs. Freda Klinger of Bismark, North Dakota, Mrs. Nellie Groen and Mrs. Jeanette Plagerman of Lynden, Mrs. Bertha Nieuwsma and Mrs. Henrietta Nieuwsma of Hull, North Dakota and Mrs. Ada Dykema of Strasburg, North Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews. Final services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. in th Hull Christian Reformed Church, Hull North Dakota, followed by interment in the Hull Cemetery. Local arrangements were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

HAAK, Gerrit J. - Memorial funeral services for Gerrit J. Haak, 79, who passed away at the Christian Rest home on Sunday, Dec. 23, 1990, will be conducted on Thursday at 1 p.m. in Lynden's Bethel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Dick Vriesman officiating. Burial will precede at 12:15 p.m. in Monumenta Cemetery. Mr. Haak, for merly of 503 Forest Circle, Lynden, was born in Hull, N.D. on Feb. 20, 1911. He was married to Cora Timmer in Lynden on June 25, 1941 and they returned to Lynden in 1946. Mr. Haak operated a dairy farm on the Guide Meridian near Wiser Lake for many years. He was also a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. He is survived by his wife Cora, also of the Christian Rest Home; two sons, Ken Haak and wife Mary-Jane and Larry Haak and wife Diane, all of Lynden; two daughters, Mrs. Linda and husband Tony Steve of Brigham, Utah, and Marilyn Haak of Lynden; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albertus Haak of Lynden and John Haak of Aberdeen, S.D.; and four sisters, Mrs. Rena Nieuwsma and Mrs. Gertrude Nieuwsma, both of Hull, N.D., Mrs. Wilma DeMick of DeMotte, Ind. and Mrs. Frances DeMick of South Holland, Ill. Besides his parents, he was preceded by an infant sister, Wilma. Visitation hours will be until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

HAAK, Irene, age 53, of 1161 Garden Dr., Lynden passed away Friday, Jan. 7, (1977). A 22 year Lynden resident, Mrs. Haak was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, and was married to her husband, Alvin on Sept. 25, 1943 in Westfield, N. Dakota. Besides her husband, Alvin, she is survived by 2 sons, Gordon and Allen of Lynden; 2 daughters, Mrs. Alice (Larry) Bosman of Lynden and Sheryl Haak at home; her mother, Mrs. Hattie Cleveringa in Linton, N. Dakota; 2 brothers, Fred Cleveringa of Sunnyside, Wash. and Willis Clerveringa of Rapid City, S. Dakota; 3 grandchildren, Shelli and Jolene Bosman and Ryan Lee Haak. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Robert Vermeer officiating. Interment will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

HAAK, Tena, an 87-year resident of the Lynden community and a charter member of Third Christian Reformed Church, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 7, 1989, in the Christian Rest Home at the age of 95. A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at Third Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Gerrit W. Sheeres officiating. Burial preceded at Monumenta Cemetery. Mrs. Haak was born on March 12, 1894, in Firth, Nebraska, a daughter of John and Willemina Van Mersbergen. She came to Whatcom County at the age of 8. On March 2, 1922, in Lynden, she was married to John Haak, who preceded her in death in 1969. Tena was a former member of the Lynden VFW Auxiliary and the Laies Aid Society of Third Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by two daughters, Nella Schuyleman and husband Bernie, and Wilma Vander Pol and husband Paul, all of Lynden; two brothers, John Van Mersbergen and Gerrit Van Mersbergen, both of Lynden; a sister, Minnie Bylsma of Lynden; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marlys Schuyleman, in 1985, and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Schuyleman in 1987 and Lee Schuyleman in 1983. Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

HAALAND, Betty Ann - Twenty-year Bellingham resident Betty Ann Haaland, 52, 2739 Iron St., died Wednesday (Nov. 5, 1987) in Bellingham. She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Lake Mills, Iowa and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by her mother, Esther Sjone (Fjone); four sisters, Eileen Hanson, Doronty Sachau, Lorraine Sucich and Sheryl Sjone (Fjone); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Jones Funeral Home. Burial arrangements are pending. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

HAAN, Arnold M. of Bellingham died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997. He was 82. At his request, no service will be held. Born Aug. 13, 1915, to Joseph and Henrietta Gutknecht Haan in Armstrong, Iowa, he lived in Whatcom County most of his life. He married Wanda Berry on Sept. 7, 1956. Mr. Haan worked as a Realtor. Survivors include his wife of Bellingham, brother Charles Haan of Everett and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

HAAN, Dora Methven, age 87, formerly of Bellingham, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 1994 in Bellevue. She was born April 27, 1907 in Blackheath, England to James and Helen Bindon. In 1914 her family came to the U.S., first settling in Montana, and then moving to Bellingham. She was graduated from Whatcom High School and received a teaching certificate from Bellingham Normal School. Mrs. Haan taught school at Nooksack Falls following her graduation. In 1929, she married John Methven. They lived in Glacier the majority of the time until his death in 1944. She then moved with her two children to Bellingham and married Edward Haan in 1950. Mrs. Haan spent many years working in the Whatcom County Courthouse, both in the Auditor's Office and the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of the Retired Public Employees Union, the Bellingham Business Women's Club and the First Christian Church since 1917. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Queenie Melosh; brothers, Leonard and Douglas Bindon; and both husbands. She is survived by her daughter, Carol & husband Bill Easterbrook of Bellevue; son, Bruce & wife Marilyn Methven of Bellingham; step-son, David & wife Natasha Haan of Edmonds; sister-in-law, Bernice Bindon and nephew, Rod Bindon of Bellevue. Mrs. Haan also enjoyed her 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thurs., Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Greenacres Memorial Park. Rev. Richard Talley will be officiating. HAAN, Henrietta - Graveside services for Mrs. Henrietta Haan, age 86, of 810 Grover Street, Lynden, were conducted on Saturday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the Monumenta Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Jordan officiating. Mrs. Haan, who died on Wednesday, July 12, (1978) was born in Iowa and moved to the Lynden area in 1915. She was active in the Lynden United Methodist Church and was married to Joe Haan in Iowa in January 1910; Mr. Haan died in 1965. She is survived by three sons, Ray of Bellingham, Charles of Everett and Arnold of Lynden; two daughters; Mrs. Connie (Donald) Seelye and Mrs. Mernie Barker both of Bellingham; twelve grand and twenty-four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

HAAN, Raymond R. - Graveside services for Raymond R. Haan, owner of Bellingham Chemical Industries will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bayview Cemetery. The Rev. Harold Minkler will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Jerns and LeVeck Funeral Chapel. Mr. Haan died Friday (June 24, 1988). He was born June 15, 1911, in Armstrong, Iowa. He and his family moved to Lynden in 1915. He graduated from Lynden High School in 1929, and moved to Bellingham in 1931. Mr. Haan was a member of Bellingham Yacht Club, National Pest Control Association, and Washington State Pest Control Association. He was a past regional vice president of the National Pest Control Association. Mr. Haan was also a charter member of the Camel Club of Lynden. Survivors include his wife Alvis (Aldis) of the family home; three sons, Robert Haan of Tacoma, Joel Haan of Bellingham, and Stephen Haan of Ferndale; a stepson, Patt (sic) Garland of Bellingham; two daughters, Carol Simonson of Sair (Fair?) Oak, Calif., and Janet Green of Bellingham; a stepdaughter, Alison Howard of Paso Robles, Calif., two brothers, Charles Haan of Everett and Arnold Haan of Bellingham; two sisters Connie Cleone Seelye of Des Moines, Wash., and Mernie Baker of Bellingham; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

HAAN, Ruby Leona, age 68 of 1247 Chuckanut Drive passed away in California Thursday, November 26, 1981. She leaves to survive her husband Ray; 2 sons, Joel of Bellingham; Stephen of Palm Springs, California; 3 daughters, Janet Green & Stella Jordan, both of Bellingham, Pat Sinclair of Mt. HAAN, Stephen Lee died Tuesday, July 13, in Moab, Utah. He was 40. No services will be held. Born June 23, 1953, in Bellingham to Ray and Ruby Haan, he lived in Bellingham until he moved to Utah two years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jo Haan of Moab; stepmother Aldice Haan of Bellingham; sisters Janet Green of Bellingham and Carol Simmonson of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Robert Haan of Tacoma and Joel Haan of Bellingham; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

HAAS, Harlow Dean, age 49, of 2215 Lynn St. passed away Friday, April 12, (1974). He had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 5 years and was a journeyman pressman at the Bellingham Herald. Veteran of WWII, member of the Pressmens Union and the Squalicum Yacht Club. He is survived by his wife, Pauline E.; 1 son, Harlow Gary, city; 2 daughters, Miss Nadean E. Haas and Ginger Penny Haas, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Edith Goolsby, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; maternal grandfather, Willard Lemon of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. HAASE, Warren "Dutch" of 2929 Northwest Ave. died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 1994 at Bayside Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 85. Born Aug. 9, 1909, to Fred and Evelyn Maynard Haase in Pacific City, he graduated from Buckley High School. He married Ethel "Lindy" Lindor on April 20, 1972, in Tacoma. Mr. Haase worked in logging camps in Washington, Oregon and Alaska and owned and operated a logging company for four years. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife of the family home; sons Ron Haase of Port Protection, Alaska, and Don Hasse of Estacada, Ore.; daughter Barbara Fulleton of Aberdeen; stepson Ron Newell of Seattle; stepdaughters Shirlee Crain of Buckley, Carol Peavey of Sprague and Marie Newell of Du Bai, United Arab Emirates; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be in Enumclaw at a later date.

HABECK, Bertha J., age 96, passed away Monday, November 22, (1965). Mrs. Habeck had resided in Bellingham for the past 25 years and leaves to survive 1 son, William of this city; 2 daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Skoglund and Mrs. Helen Graf of this city; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. HABECK, Edward, age 86 of 2309 Conley passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Sept. 21, (1957) following a short illness. Mr. Habeck had resided in Bellingham for the past 15 years. He leaves to survive, his wife Mrs. Beta Habeck of the family home, one son William H. of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Skoglund of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Helen Graf of this city; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. HABERLY, Peter Larry, age 69, of 2201 E Street, passed away in a local hospital Monday March 25, (1952). Mr. Haberly had resided in this community for the past 27 years; was a retired watchman and had attended the Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are his widow, Anna H. at home; two daughter, Mrs. Louise Burley of Bellingham, and Bonnie Williams, of Reno, Nevada; two grandchildren, Ronnie and Carol Ann Burley, both of Bellingham. HABLUTZEL, Latta Belle, age 81 years, of 2315 Williams Street, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, November 15, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Hablutzel had been a resident of the Nooksack, Everson communities for the past 45 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Ray, and two granddaughters, Sandra and Diane, all of Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 19, at 1 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of Westford-Beck funeral home with the Rev. John Parrott officiating. Interment, Nooksack Cemetery. HACHMAN, Cecil, age 75 who resided at 5129 Sand Road, passed away Wed., June 18, 1980. He had been a life time resident of Bellingham and Whatcom County, was active in the Rome Grange and the Ferndale Activity Center. HACHMAN, Erma I., 81 years, 3115 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, died Dec. 31, 1990 in Bellingham. She was born in Ferndale, WA on June 14, 1909 and was a lifetime Whatcom County resident. She was a retire[d] Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at the Old county Hospital and then at St. Luke's Hospital for many years. She was an active member of Unity Church of Truth also active member of Rome Grange for 44 years, and as a young girl she was a member of Orchard Grange. She was widely known as a volunteer in the community. She was also a 4-H leader for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil in 1980. Survivors include a son, Frank C. Hachman and wife Margaret of Salt Lake City, UT; a daughter Elaine Cress and husband Dean of Bellingham; Sisters, Edna Stickney & Frances Parry; a sister-in-law Arlie Grindle, and Boinlaw (sic) Fred Hachman; 4 grandchildren Jeannette Legge, Andrew Hachman, David Cress and Daniel Cress; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. Private family graveside service will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park on Thursday, Jan. 3, and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 1:00 p.m. at Unity Church of Truth with Rev. HACHMAN, Fred - A graveside service for Fred Hachman, 91, of Birch Bay will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Greenacres Memorial Park, Northwest and Axton roads. The Rev. Ralph Poulson will officiate. Mr. Hachman died Tuesday, April 28, 1992, in Auburn. He was born Sept. 3, 1900, in Lynden, to John and Catherine Hachman. Survivors include his daughter Dolores Johannesson of Kent; his sister Arlie Grindle of Bellingham; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

HACHMAN, John Henry, age 91, of 2610 Eldridge Avenue, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, August 27, (1950) following a brief illness. HACHMAN, Owen F. age 95 of 2320 Dean Ave. passed away Sunday, August 27, (1989) in a local nursing home. He was a veteran of WWI, had been a self-employed carpenter & a farmer, and retired in 1960. He was preceded in death by his wife Effie in 1983. He leaves to survive brother Fred Hachman of Birch Bay; sister Arlie & Alfred Grindle of B'ham; two step-sons, John & wife Stella LaPlante of Everett; Don & Ruth LaPlante of B'ham; 3 step-daughters Emma Ramey of Seattle, Effie & husband George Myers of B'ham, Alice & husband Ray Senechal of Lynnwood; sister-in-law Erma Hachman of B'ham. HACHMAN, Peter F., age 68, of 1530 Smith Rd., passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1958. Mr. Hachman was a resident of Whatcom County most of his entire lifetime. He worked for 33 years for the Washington Co-Op of which he was a member; he was also a member of the Meat Cutters Union Local No. 247. Survivors include his wife, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy McKenzie of Anchorage; Mrs. Ruth Hoeruegel of Bellingham; three sisters, Mrs. Arlie Grindle and Mrs. Bessie McLeod, both of North Bellingham; Mrs. Mary Bergsma of Seattle; three brothers, Cecil and Owen, both of Bellingham; Fred of Blaine; four grandchildren; numerous other relatives. HACHMAN, Rachel May, age 50 of Rt. 2 Blaine, passed away Saturday,December 14, (1957) in a Bellingham hospital following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 43 years and is a member of the First Baptist Church in Ferndale. Survivors include her husband, Fred, 1 daughter, Mrs. Delores Johannesson of Seattle, 1 sister, Mrs. Susan Bullard of Bellingham, 3 brothers, Vernon Baxter of Fairbanks, Alaska, James Baxter of Ferndale and George Baxter of Rt. 2, Blaine, 2 granddaughters, Cheryl and Mavie Johannesson, 1 nephew, Michael Bullard. HACKER, Katherine, 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jean E. Hacker of Anacortes, died Tuesday in a Seattle hospital following a lengthy illness. Besides the parents, she is survived by a brother, Mike, and a sister, Susan, both at home; the grandparents, Mrs. Richard Wagner in Missouri, Mrs. I. J. Decker of Bellingham and George E. Sherman of Crescent City, Calif.; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. M. B. Sherman of Bellingham. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bryson-Engdahl Funeral Home here with the Rev. HACKETT, Arie, age 80, of 2807 Ellis St., passed away in a local Sanitarium Saturday, May 2, (1959). Mr. Hackett had resided in Bellingham for the past 33 years and had attended the Congregational Church. HACKETT, Erma D. (Ed), 1204 W. North Street, age 72, passed away Monday, December 19, (1966). A thirty-year resident of this city, Mr. Hackett was a retired farmer, and was a custodian at St. Luke's Hospital for six years. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church. HACKETT, Esther C., age 79, of 2168 Seamount Dr., Ferndale, passed away at her home Mon. Jan. 8, (1990). She was preceded in death by her husband Percy A. Hackett in June of 1959. HACKETT, Galen E., 64, of Trail, Ore., a former Whatcom County resident, died Monday. Mr. Hackett was born in Pickering, Mo., Jan. 11, 1921, and came to the Bellingham area in 1937. He graduated from Mount Baker High School. After service in the Navy during World War II, he lived in Medford, Ore., for many years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter; two sons; four grandchildren; two sisters, including Virginia Benson of Bellingham; and a brother.

HACKETT, Paul, age 65, of 1745 Axton Rd., passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, (1950) in a local hospital following an extended illness. He had been a resident of the North Bellingham district for the past 22 years. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Baptist Church. HACKMAN, Carolyn - Memorial services for Carolyn Vogt Hackman, 27, will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church. Mrs. Hackman was lost in a storm in the Gulf of Alaska along with her husband Larry last May (1973). He was buried June 2, (1973). The couple was enroute to Cordova, Alaska aboard the 32-foot gillnetter Sonia Gail at the time of the swamping. Mrs. Hackman was a life resident of the Blaine area and a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vogt, two brothers, Earl and David, all of Blaine and grandmother Emelie Buxel of Seattle.

HACKMAN, Larry James, 30, Route 2, Blaine, passed away Monday, May 14, (1973). Both Larry and his wife Carolyn were lost in the North Central Gulf of Alaska while enroute to Alaskan waters to fish. Larry ws born in Anchorage, Alaska, March 2, 1943 and had made his home in the Blaine area since 1966. He was a Commercial Fisherman and had been employed by Alaska Packer Assn. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Blaine. Surviving are two brothers, Wesley A. Hackman of Blaine and Edwards Airforce Base and Patrick, address unknown. Also his mother and father in law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vogt. Funeral services were held in Veroske's McKinney Funeral Home, Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Gerald Mayovsky officiating. Burial followed in the Blaine Cemetery.

HADDAD, Jack D. – At his request, there will be no service for Jack Donald Haddad of Bellingham. A memorial Mass will be held/celebrated at a later date. Mr. Haddad died of cancer Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at his home. He was 67. Born April 14, 1933 to Mike and Helen (Johnson) Haddad in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he had been a Whatcom County resident for seven years. Mr. Haddad served as a communications instructor in the US Army. On Feb 14, 1953, he married Barbara Jones in Cedar Rapids. In 1958, he graduated from Iowa State University. He later moved to Santa Clara, Calif, where he lived for 10 years and earned his master's and doctorate's degrees in business management. In 1970, he moved to Mission Viejo, Calif, and opened Vision Realty in Laguna Hills. He later passed the California Bar and specialized in real estate until his retirement in 1994, when he moved to Bellingham. Mr. Haddad served as president of Saddleback Board of Realtors in 1974 and 1982 and was a member of Whatcom County Real Estate Board and Assumption Catholic Church. He also was active with the YMCA. An avid hiker, he had climbed Mount Baker. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughters Debbie Haddad of Deming, Michele Loyo of Mission Viejo and Pamela Mom of Morgan Hill, Calif.; son Rick Haddad of Long Beach, Calif.; mother Helen Fitzwater of Bellingham; sister Shirley Stallings; four grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew. Arrangements are by Whatcom Cremation and Burial.

HADDOX, Gerald Clyde, age 66, of 1341 Central Rd., Everson, passed away on Tues., Aug. 14, 1979. Born in Pendleton, Ore., Mr. Haddox had been a county resident for the past 19 years. A World War II veteran, Mr. Haddox had managed the LDS Grocery for many years, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Steven Holmes Morrison VFW Post #9301 in Lynden and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hermiston, Ore. and The Shrine Temple in Portland, Ore. He is lovingly remembered by Maybelle and also 3 brothers, Leo Haddox of B'ham, John Haddox of Boise, Idaho and Tom Haddox of Ferndale and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in the Nooksack area (Feb. 18, 1906), Mr. Hadeen was a life time county resident and had worked for many years for what is now Bellingham Sash & Door. He is survived by a brother Gust & his wife Bessie Hadeen of Everson; a sister Mrs. Louise Richards of Bellingham & 6 nephews. HADEEN, Frans Oscar, age 73 years, formerly of 1314 1/2 Cornwall, passed away Thursday, November 18, (1948) following a lingering illness. Mr. Hadeen had been a resident of Bellingham for the past forty-five years and had worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Order of Vasa. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Louise Richards, Bellingham; two sons, Gust Hadeen, Hopewell, Wash., and Arnold, of Snohomish, Wash.; also five grandsons. HADEEN, Gustave E., 86, of Everson died at Sehome Park Care Center in Bellingham on Jan. 17, 1995. A graveside service was held on Friday at Nooksack Cemetery with Rev. Sharon Hare officiating. A coffee hour followed at the senior center in Everson. Mr. Hadeen was a lifetime Whatcom County resident. He was born in Nooksack on Sept. 30, 1908, a son of Frans Oscar and Engeborg Elizabeth Wikberg Hadeen. He worked as a logger in the 1920s and 30s and drove truck for Darigold for 17 years. In Bellingham on Sept. 20, 1938 he was married to Bessie Graham and they operated a dairy farm on Goodwin Road until moving to Everson 21 years ago. As his family so appropriately stated, his hobby was "work". Mr. Hadeen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bessie of the family home; five sons, Glen Hadeen and wife Ruth of Everson, Jerry Hadeen and wife Linda of Westminster, Calif., Dennis Hadeen of Deming, Wayne Hadeen and wife Mary Beth of Nooksack and Don Hadeen and companion Terry of Everson; sister Louise Richards and nephew Gordon Richards, both of Forks; 17 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arnold Hadeen of Bellingham. Arrangements and cremation were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

HADLEY, Edward Oscar, age 91 of 377 No. 77th St. Seattle, passed away in that city Sunday, Sept. 27, (1959). HADLEY, Jessie P., age 98 of 860 N. 2nd Ave., Kent, Wash., passed away Friday April 4, 1980. She had moved to Kent in 1978 after residing in Whatcom County since 1935. She attended and was a member of Calvary Temple Church and is survived by 1 son, Anson P. Hadley of Kent; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Paul Cantelon Tuesday April 8, 1 p.m., at the Jones Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

HADLEY, Laura K., of 2100 Alabama Street, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1993, after an auto accident. She was 15. Hadley's fiancé, Aaron C. Lintz, also died in the accident. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at the old Jones-Moles Funeral Home, at the corner of Holly and Forest streets. Joint funeral services for Hadley and her fiancé will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the new Jones-Moles Funeral Home. at the corner of Lakeway Drive and Yew Street. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Hadley was born No. 1, 1977, in Sedro-Woolley to Gary and Penny Hadley. A lifetime Whatcom County resident, she was a student at Meridian High School. She loved roller skating and socializing. Survivors include her father, of Burlington; her mother, of Bellingham; her brothers, Alex, Kevin, and Gabriel Hadley and Scott Munkres, all of Bellingham; her step-brother Caleb Minaberry of Burlington; her sisters Shelly Williams and Jennifer Hinton of Bellingham and Kristina Gantt of Portland; grandparents Ralph "Bud" Nelson and Pat Nelson of Ferndale; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

HADLEY, Mary Alice, age 84, of 6810 Weedin Place, Seattle, passed away in Kirkland, Wash., Tuesday, December 15, (1953). Mrs. Hadley had lived in Seattle for the past 34 years, and previously had lived in Bellingham from 1903 to 1919. Surviving relatives include her husband, Oscar Hadley at the family home; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Shane in Nebraska, and Mrs. Pearl Turner of Hastings, Neb.; a niece, Mrs. Isaac Lich, and a nephew, Earl Myatt, both of Bellingham. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. John E. Parrott, Friday, December 18, at 11:30 a.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn.

HADLEY, Melbourne W., age 81, of 2218 Henry Street, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, Jan. 1, (1963) following an extended illness. Mr. Hadley had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 15 years and was a member of the Bethal Temple in Ferndale, the Ferndale Townsend Club and Orchard Grange. Survivors include his wife, Pearl; one son, Anson Hadley of Kent; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted in the Moles Funeral Home, Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Jacobson officiating. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

HADLEY, Roy A., age 75 years, of Ferndale, passed away Wednesday, April 8, (1953) at a local hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Hadley had been a resident of Ferndale for the past four years and was formerly a mail carrier in Minneapolis. He is survived by one brother, Melbourne, of Ferndale; one nephew, Anson P. Hadley, of Kent, Wash. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m. from the Monroe Funeral Chapel in Ferndale with the Rev. A. A. Galbraith officiating.

HADRATH, George James - A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Greenacres Memorial Park for George James Hadrath Sr. Mr. Hadrath, 65, of 6851 Dutch Haven Drive, Lynden, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 1991) at St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus. He was born April 17, 1926, in Butte, Mont., to Frederick and Anna Hadrath. Mr. Hadrath worked for Lynden Transport Inc. and Sierra Chemical Co. of Reno, Nev. He moved to Whatcom County in 1968 and married Muriel A. Weeks in Battle Mountain, Nev., on April 19, 1986. He was a member of VFW Post No. 9165 in Battle Mountain, American Legion Post No. 100 in Reno, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 29-21 in Calienge, Nev., and Teamsters Local No. 231 in Bellingham. Mr. Hadrath is survived by his wife, of the family home; a son, George Hadrath Jr., of Ferndale; a daughter, Sondra Lee Wright, of Cearbrook, B.C.; stepsons Mark Weeks, Luke Weeks, Matthew Weeks and John Weeks, all of Lynden; a stepdaughter, Bette Pearson, of Camano Island; a sister, Evelyn Hadrath Roe, of Jacksonville, Fla., three grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenacres Funeral Home.
