FARES, Helen, age 77, of 2239 Mt. Baker Highway, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, Dec. 28, (1959). Mrs. Fares had been a resident of this community for the past 35 years and leaves no known surviving relatives. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. S. E. Foskett, Thursday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.FARES, Joseph, age 73 years, who resided at 2239 Mt Baker Highway, passed away suddenly in a local hospital Saturday, July 6, (1957) following a brief illness. Mr. Fares had been a farmer in this district for the past 50 years and was a member of the Whatcom County Darigold Assn. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Helene Fares at the family residence. Rev. FARIS, Viola M., age 71, died Tues. Dec. 20, (1988) at Needhams Nursing Home. Mrs. Faris was a resident of Kirkland, Wa. for over 21 years. Survived by her husband J. Harlan Faris of Kirkland; 2 sons, Brian Bell & wife Joanne of Beaverton, OR, Steven Bell & wife Carol of Palm Desert, CA; 2 grandchildren, Sean & Heather Bell of Beaverton, OR; 1 brother, Russell Mehus & wife Micky of Winthrop, WA; 1 sister, Sybil Baker of Bellingham; numerous other relatives. FARLEY, Beth E., "Minnie" 78 died Sunday, July 13, 1992, in a nursing home in Olympia. She was born Aug. 20, 1913, in Wenatchee, to Floyd and Vida Jones Shulmier. She graduated from St. Lukes School of Nursing and worked for many years as a registered nurse for Dr. Brinson in Bellingham. She was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha-Rho Chapter of Bellingham. She was married to Robert Farley March 16, 1940, in Blaine. He died in April 1991. Survivors include daughter Sharon Braden of Tumwater; sister Maxine Heidman of Bellingham and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tumwater United Methodist Church, 1401 Lake Park Drive, Tumwater. Burial will follow in Masonic Memorial Park, in Tumwater. Arrangements are by Mills & Mills Funeral Home of Olympia.
FARLEY, Donald G., age 36, of 202 Baker Street, passed away Wednesday, May 9, (1956) in a local hospital. Mr. Farley had resided in Bellingham for the past 13 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7 American Legion, where he served as chaplain the past three years. He is survived by his parents, Mr. J. R. Farley and Mrs. Helen Farley, both of Almont, Mich.; two brothers, Charles of Rochester, New York and James A. of Almont, Mich.; two sisters, also his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Green of Granville, Ida. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 14 at 1 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with the Reverend C. Eugene Sabin, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating, followed by Ritualistic Services of the Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7, American Legion. Interment Greenacres Memorial Park.
FARLEY, Emma, age 44 of 1900 J St., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, December 12, (1959) following a short illness. Mrs. Farley had been a lifetime resident of Whatcom County and was a member of the Culinary & Beverage Workers Union Local 529. She leaves to survive her husband, Silas Farley of the family home, 3 sons, Ernest J., of Fairchild Airbase, Spokane; Eugene R., Robert D.; 1 daughter, Kathleen, all of the family home; her father, Walter Youngdyke of Ferndale; one brother, Edward Youngdyke of Sumas; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mable Bishop of Burlington, Mrs. Ruby Miller of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Interment Woodlawn.
FARLEY, Frances H., 69 former Bellingham resident, died Sunday at her home in Indio, Calif. She was born May 3, 1912, in Bellingham. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She is survived by her husband, W. C. Farley, two sisters and a brother. Cremation arrangements were made by the Neptune Society, Riverside, Calif.
FARLEY, James Emmett, age 60 years, passed away at a Seattle hospital Sunday, April 15, (1945). Mr. Farley was a painter, residing at a local hotel and had made his home here and at Maple Falls the past forty years. Surviving relatives are one son, Daniel E., and one grandson, Frederick Daniel Farley, at Seattle. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. James M. Wilson, Wednesday, April 18, at 10:00 a.m. Final resting place, Bay View.
FARLEY, James H., age 82, of Lopez Island, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Jan. 10, (1959). Mr. Farley had resided at Lopez Island for the past 14 years and leaves to survive one daughter, Mrs. LeVere Orcutt, of Lopez Island; three sons, Edward E., of Seattle, Woodrow L., of Concord, Calif., and Harold E. of Stockton, Calif.; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jessie of Yakima and John, of Jamestown, No. Dak. Services will be conducted by the Rev. J. O. Duffy at the Center Church on Lopez Island Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. FARLEY, Margaret Ann, age 52, passed away Thursday, August 23, (1951) at her home in Yakima following a brief illness. Mrs. Farley was a former Bellingham resident. Surviving relatives include one son, Leonard Quackenbush; her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Mackerness; Two brothers, R. C. and Noel Mackerness; a twin sister, Mrs. Mildred Dornberger, all of Yakima; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. FARLEY, Otis Nash, Dr., age 65, of Lynden, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, (1954) at his home following a lingering illness. He had resided in Lynden for the past 30 years where he practiced dentistry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lynden Chapter of the O. E. S., member of the Mt. Baker Dental Association, and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Clarissa; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Purcell of Oak Harbor; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Radley of Bellingham, Mrs. Irene Hennes of Long Beach, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. FARLEY, Robert J. - Former Bellingham resident Robert J. Farley, 73, of 308 B St. in Tumwater, died Tuesday (Apr. 23, 1991). Farley lived in Bellingham for 30 years and had moved to Tumwater one month ago. He was born in Pomeroy, and married Beth Schulmier in Blaine March 16, 1940. He worked for Puget Sound Power and Light Co. for 38 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and the Pierre B. Cornwall Masonic Lodge of Bellingham. He was also a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Beth Farley, of the family home; a daughter Sharon Braden of Tumwater; a sister, Erma Freitag of Yakima; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Tumwater United Methodist Church with burial following at the Masonic Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mills & Mills Funeral Director of Olympia.
FARLEY, Walter Silas, age 15 months, of Everson, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, March 24, (1949). Walter was the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Farley, of Everson. Surviving relatives, beside his parents, include one brother, Ernest and one sister, Kathleen. Also four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Youngdyke, Sumas, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Farley, of Smackover, Arkansas. FARLOW, Flora E., age 78, of 527 Everglade Rd., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Oct. 11, (1958). Mrs. Farlow had been a resident of this community for the past 41 years; was a member of the Christian Church of Medaryville, Ind.; was a member of the WCTU; and had attended Valpariso University in Valpariso, In., prior to moving to Skagit County in 1905. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Eldridge of Snohomish, Mrs. Besse Snider, and Mrs. Edith F. Trunkey, both of Bellingham; two brothers, George O. Wilcox and Paul O. Wilcox, both of Mount Vernon; Mrs. Laura M. Jorgensen of Everett; and numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. Father W. FARMER, Alexander C., age 60, of Route 1 Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital, Thursday, May 4, (1950) following a short illness. Mr. Farmer had been a resident of this community since 1919. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. Surviving relatives include his wife, Helen; a son, Norman, of Seattle; two daughters, Miss Cherie L., of Seattle, and Miss Bonnie Jean, of Ferndale. FARMER, Bascom C., age 66, a resident of the Montborne Community since 1946, died in a Skagit Co. hospital, Sat. Sept. 23, 1978. He was born in N. Carolina in 1911. A Veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the George Baldridge American Legion Post in Sedro Woolley. He was a retired Skagit Co. Road Dept. employee, also a logger & a cook. Survived by his wife, Inez, 2 sons; Dennis of Montborne & Jim of Anacortes. 2 step-daughters; Elzada Henderson of Colville & Valdine Wilson of Sedro Woolley. 2 step-sons; William Brigham of Sedro Woolley & Larry Brigham of Montborne. FARMER, Charles P., age 30, who resided at 3310 Lakeway Drive, passed away in a Seattle hospital, on Saturday, Sept. 24, (1955) following a lingering illness. He had lived in Bellingham for the past five years, and previous to that had resided in Orcas. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, he was a member off the board of trustees, a Sunday school teacher and served on the building committee. He was also a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Laborers Union No. 276. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Farmer; one daughter, Janis Farmer at home; his father, Mr. Grover H. Farmer of Lake Stevens, Wash.; his mother, Mrs. Mary Farmer of Bellingham; two brothers, Robert W. Farmer of Bellingham, John C. Farmer of Johnson City, Tenn., and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Repoz of Bellingham, and Mrs. Mary Beach of Mount Vernon. Rev. Melvin V. Laws, pastor of the Nazarene Church, assisted by Rev. FARNSWORTH, Danne S., 45, a native Skagit County resident died at the United General Hospital in Sedro Woolley Tuesday, May 18, (1993). He was born in Burlington June 12, 1947 the son of Edwin C. and Margery N. Hansen Farnsworth. He was raised in Burlington where he began his elementary education. He moved with his parents to Conway where he finished his elementary schooling in the Conway Grade School. He attended Mount Vernon High School where he graduated in 1965. He entered the United States Air Force in 1966 where he served for 4 years and was discharged with a rating of Sargeant (sic). Mr. Farnsworth had worked as a mechanic and retired in 1975 due to ill health. He enjoyed auto mechanics making it a hobby with different vintages. He was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church of Bellingham. Survivors are: his mother and her husband, Margery and Oscar Swanson of Bellingham, 1 sister, Carol Patterson of San Leandro, Calif., 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Clifford Farnsworth of Sacramento, and Jerry and Carol Farnsworth of Mount Vernon, a step-brother and his wife, Jack and Leann Swanson of Bellingham, a close friend Karen Anderson of Mount Vernon and nieces and a nephew. His father preceded him in death in 1969. Funeral services will be held in the Kern Funeral Chapel Mount Vernon at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 1993 with cremation to follow the services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Burlington Cemetery.
FARNSWORTH, Gertrude - Funeral services for Bellingham native Gertrude Farnsworth, 87, were held in Lodi, Calif., earlier this month. Farnsworth, who lived in Acampo, Calif., died Aug. 9, (1989) at a Lodi hospital. Born Dec. 21, 1901, she was raised in Bellingham and was a nurse for Dr. Harry Southerland in Bellingham for 40 years before retiring in 1967. She moved to Acampo in 1981. While in Bellingham, she attended Assumption and Sacred Heart churches and was a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She also enjoyed knitting. While in California, she was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lodi, St. Anne's Rosary Makers and Catholic Daughters of America. Farnsworth was preceded in death by two brothers, John Pry and Kenneth Pry, and a sister, Margaret Pry. Survivors include a son, Louis N. Farnsworth of Lodi; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a niece, Lois Pry of Spokane; and a nephew, John Pry of Bremerton.
FARNSWORTH, Mary "Auntie" age 84 years, 1218 Grant Street, passed away at a local hospital, Tuesday, March 25, (1947) after an illness of six weeks. Mrs. Farnsworth had been a resident of Bellingham for the past twenty-five years and was a devoted member of the Garden Street Methodist Church, of the Women's Society of Christian Service, was a member of the former Delphian group of that organization; a member of the Humming Bird Demonstration Club and of the Delphian Garden Club. She leaves to survive a host of friends, also one niece, Mrs. Jennie Albright in Rochester, N. Y. Funeral services will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Thursday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. James M. Milligan, of Everett, and assisted by Dr. Roy Leslie Smith. Interment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

Mrs. Farnsworth was a resident here for the past 64 years and leaves to survive 1 niece, Mrs. Lottie Knittell of Stanwood, Wn. Rev. Paul Cantelon and Rev. FARNSWORTH, Maude Mary, age 79, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Tiedje, 433 Sixteenth Street, Thursday, December 12. Mr. Farnsworth had been a resident of this community for the past thirty-one years and was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Surviving relatives other than her daughter, are two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Effie Mason, of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth.

Mrs. Farnum died Jan. 2, 1997, in Bayside Health and Rehab Center, Bellingham. She was 88. Born Dec. 2, 1908, in Dickey, N.D., to Carl and Elizabeth Colclough Sonick, she moved to Whatcom County in 1981. She attended Custer United Methodist Church and was a member of Haynie Grange. A lifetime resident of the Skagit County area, she had made her home in Blaine for the past 3 years. FARQUHARSON, Russell Dwight, age 43 years, passed away at the family home, 1745 Bakerview Road, Friday, June 15, (1945). Mr. Farquharson had spent his entire life in this community. He was a member of the Culinary and Beverage Workers' Union and the Eagles Lodge, Aerie No. 31. FARRAR, Benjamin O., age 84 years, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, February 11, (1945). FARRELL, Charles Vincent, Dr., age 64 years, who resided at 723 14th Street, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, Aug. 14, (1958) as a result of a heart attack. Dr. Farrell had resided in Bellingham the past 37 years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of the University of Washington, also a graduate of St. Louis University of Medicine. He was a member of Bellingham Lodge No. 194, BPO Elks, Kiwanis Club, College Club and also a member of the Medical Fraternity Phi Chi. FARRELL, Eleanor Lynne (Nelson) passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2004 surrounded by her family. She was 63. She was born on June 17, 1941 in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Harold and Erline Nelson. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1959 and attended Washington State University. She was employed as a bookkeeper/accountant. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crafts, photography, animals, gardening, writing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and family, one day at a time. She is survived by her husband, Tom Farrell, of Morton; mother Erline L. Nelson of Ferndale; daughters Leslie Moore (Mike) and Kim Thorpe (Mike Gohr), all of Enumclaw; grandchildren Emily, Jason and Scout; brother Dave Nelson (Jean) of Ferndale; & various uncles, aunt, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold D. Nelson, on Oct. 22, 1995; and aunt, Shirley Campbell, in April 2004. FARRELL, Russell A. - Word has reached The Bellingham Herald of the death of Russell A. Farrell, 50, who taught in Bellingham for 15 years. Farrell, who had been attending the Annual Pacific Education Conference in Palau, Micronesia, with his wife, Jacqueline, died after being hit by a motor boat while snorkling Aug. 10, (1989) near the Rock Islands of Palau. A science teacher, Farrell left Bellingham High School in 1984, and taught for two years in Yap, Micronesia, and then Guam's John F. Kennedy High School. He also had taught in a small Alaskan village. Farrell graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle, Olympic Community College, Western Washington University, and the University of Oregon, from where he received his master of science degree. He had been an exchange teacher in Hilo, Hawaii, and was active while in Bellingham with Project Catch-up, Neighborhood Youth Corps and the Conservation Camp.
Farrell is survived by his wife Jacqueline, of Guam and Bellingham, and three children, Russell T. Farrell and Brenda S. Cromer, both of Bellingham, and Allen D. Farrell, of Seattle, his father, Russell E. Farrell, of Seattle, and a brother Douglas Farrell, Whidbey Island, and a granddaughter. FARRIS, Cloice Eugene "Gene" 66, of Sedro-Woolley went to be with his Lord on August 15, 1997. Born May 14, 1931 in Illinois, he came to Washington while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Puget Power out of Bellingham for many years, retiring in 1993 after 37 years. He married Rita Berg in Ferndale in 1970 and they lived in Sedro-Woolley, 2 daughters, 1 son, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother, and 1 sister. FARROW, Carolyn June, 62, of 2330 Cornwall Avenue, died Saturday (Aug. 24, 1991) in Seattle at Providence Hospital. Carolyn was born March 18, 1929 in Bellingham to Charley and Vera Blick. She had retired in May after working 10 years as a dietetic aide at Needam's Convalescent Center. Survivors include her mother Vera Blick, sisters Saralee Randall and Mary Ellen McFadden and brother Charles "Buzz" Blick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. FASSETT, Agnes N., beloved wife, mother & grandmother, age 78, 2290 Douglas Drive, Ferndale died Dec. 25, 1990 in Bellingham. She was born in Blaine, WA on Oct. 21, 1912. Mrs. Fassett was a long time active member of Ferndale United Church & a member of the Naomi Circle; she served on the Board of Directors of the Stafholt Icelandic Old Folks Home for many years; was president for many years of the Freya Club, an Icelandic Women's organization, and recently hosted a Christmas party in her home for the members. Mrs. Fassett was very active in the Ferndale Chapter #223, Order of Eastern Star for many years as well as the International Order of Rainbow for girls and was the second person to serve as Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She loved flowers and gardening and was Past President of the DUPI Garden Club, served as the Bird chairperson and was currently serving as Historian. Mrs. Fassett devoted herself to a life of service to others. She served on the Sunshine Committee for Eastern Star and along with her husband, Irv, made frequent visits to hospitals, nursing homes and those in need. She enjoyed making a beautiful home and yard for her family as well as traveling in their trailer to Canada and the Southwest always enjoying all aspects of nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Born Dec. 1, 1901, in Bellingham to pioneer family George and Clara (Woodard) Nolte, she attended Bellingham Normal School (now Western Washington University), the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of California at Los Angeles, and graduated from the University of Washington. She married John Earl Fassett on Nov. 5, 1927. He died on Feb. 21, 1945. Mrs. Fassett was an officer supervisor for the Washington State Tax Commission, retiring on Aug. 1, 1965. She was a former member of the Bellingham Golf & Country Club, Lakeway Golf Course, Scott Lake Golf Club, Episcopalian Church, Bellingham, and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Her hobbies included golf, reading, bridge and visiting beaches. Besides her husband, Mrs. Fassett was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. Survivors include her daughter, Joan L. Crandell, of Thurston County three grandchildren four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
FASSETT, Frank "Hank" age 77 of 3049 Main Street, Custer, passed away Sat., August 16, 1980. Frank had been a life time resident of the Custer community and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Blaine. FASSETT, Irving Best, 82, of Ferndale, died at home September 2nd, (1991), after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 6, 1909 in Custer to William and Jesse Fassett. He graduated from Custer High School and was a member of the football team that won the County Championship for 4 consecutive years. He married Agnes Fosberg of Blaine on April 3, 1938 and they shared 52 happy years until her death this past Christmas Day. In partnership with Cecil Barr for 24 years, Mr. Fassett owned and operated Fassett and Barr Motors, a full service garage, parts house, dealership and Mobil Station. Mr. Fassett was active in many community organizations and served on the Ferndale City Council for 16 years. He supported the Boy Scouts of America first as Assistant Scoutmaster and then as Scoutmaster for several years. He earned the distinguished Order of the Arrow, an award given as a mark of work, character and integrity. He and his wife Agnes were very active in the United Church of Ferndale, where he served as chairman of the Board of Trustees and was instrumental in the construction of the Education Building. Through his work with Ferndale High School students he was made an honorary member of the F. F. A. In 1946 Mr. Fassett became affiliated with the Free and Accepted Masons. He served as Worshipful Master in 1952 and was on the Ferndale Masonic Temple board for many years. He was a 32d Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Bellingham, with a life membership. This past year he was presented with the Hiram Award for outstanding service in Masonry. Several years ago Mr. Fassett became a member of Progress Lodge #87, Vancouver, on the register of the Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of British Columbia. He was a member and held offices in the Ferndale Order of Eastern Star #223. Mr. Fassett was active for many years in the International Organization of Rainbow for girls serving as Daddy Advisor to Ferndale Assembly #116. He also served on the advisory board of the Northwest Chapter of DeMolay. Mr. Fassett was a master craftsman, skilled with metal and wood lathes. He built spinning wheels for each of his grandchildren. He and his wife were avid nature lovers, and enjoyed birds, flowers, gardening and fishing together. They were deeply devoted to their family and friends, and lived a life of service to others.
Survivors include a son, John Fassett, his wife Linda and daughter, Lindi of Ferndale; and a daughter, Jeanne Epp, her husband Merlin and their son Shaun and daughter Jill Hatton of Federal Way. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sat. Sept. 7 at the United Church of Ferndale with the Reverend Richard Wyanski and Masons officiating. Mrs. Fassett had been a resident of the Custer district for the past 46 years and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Holtrop, of Custer; four sons, Irving, of Ferndale, William, of Oroville, Wash., Edward, of Olympia, and Frank, of Custer; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Keizer, of St. Marie's, of Idaho, and Mrs. Sarah Swartz, of Menomonie, Wis.; two brothers, Irving Best, of St. Paul, Minn., and Walter Hawkins, of Wisconsin; also eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31, at 2 p.m., from the McKinney's Funeral Home at Blaine, with the Reverend C. G. Albertson officiating. Interment in Enterprise Cemetery.
FASSETT, Joan Linda, 2 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Fassett, of Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, February 8, (1948). FASSETT, John Earl, age 46 years, passed away Wednesday, February 21, (1945) at his home in Blaine. Mr. Fassett was a sergeant in the U. S. Customs Patrol and had been in that service for the past fifteen years, having been stationed in Bellingham, Northport, Wash., and for the last six years in Blaine. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Clara Fassett; one daughter, Joan, at home; the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fassett, of Custer; four brothers, William, of Curlew, Wash., Edward, Olympia, Frank, Custer, and Irving, Ferndale; also several nieces and nephews. FASSETT, Lana Linell, infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Fassett, 7152 Ashley Court, Ferndale passed away Fri., Jan. 2, (1976) in Seattle. The baby is also survived by grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jess Calvery of Ferndale and Mr. & Mrs. Irving Fassett of Ferndale; great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. G. A. FASSETT, William Carlos, age 76 years, passed away Thursday, May 15, (1947). He was a pioneer resident of the Custer district for the past forty-six years. FASSNACHT, Edith F. died Monday March 8, 1993, in Bellingham. She was 77. Family graveside services will be held Friday at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Sabine, Texas, to Ray and Mary King. A resident of Oak Harbor since 1944, she moved to Bellingham two months ago. Survivors include son Joe W. FAST, Walter E., age 29, of Route 1, Blaine, passed away suddenly Monday, August 22, (1949). FATHERGILL, Samuel, age 75, of 1112 18th St., passed away in a local hospital, Friday, Jan. 25, (1963) following an extended illness. Mr. Fathergill had been a resident since 1915 and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survived by six sisters and one brother in Cornwall, England. FAULDS, Bertha, 89, 3027 Cherrywood Ave., died Thursday (Oct. 8, 1987) in Bellingham. She was born Oct. 9, 1897, in Ivanhoe, Minn., and had lived in Bellingham the past seven years. Mrs. Faulds was a member of the Methodist Church and the Home Study Club, both in Ivanhoe, Minn. Survivors include two daughters, Arlene Adolphson of Bellingham and Ruth Torres of Sacramento, Calif.; four sons, Malcolm Faulds, Dale Faulds, Rolland Faulds and Eugene Faulds, all of Minnesota; a brother, Ted Goodmundson of Montana; a sister, Christine Hammer of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. FAULKNER, Alfred L. - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Moles Funeral Home for Alfred L. Faulkner, 72, of Ferndale. He died Thursday (Feb. 24, 1972) of an apparent heart attack. A 65-year resident of Whatcom County, he was the retired owner of Faulkner's Service Station. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Dierdorff of Ferndale and Mrs. Sarah Salmon of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; a brother, Bob Faulkner of Bellingham, and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment was in Ten Mile Cemetery.
FAULKNER, Edith Irene, age 57, of Rt. No. 3, Box 63, Bellingham, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, July 21, (1956). Mrs. Faulkner had been a resident of this community for the past 36 years; was a licensed Practical Nurse and a member of the Methodist Church and Licensed Practical Nurses Association. FAULKNER, Mary T., age 90 of Seattle passed away June 17, 1988 in Seattle. FAULKNER, Nadine L. of Everson died at home Saturday, July 26, 1997. She was 74. Her ashes will be placed in Los Gatos, Calif. Born March 17, 1923, to Wilbur and Grace Baum in South Bend, Ind., she was raised there. She married James Faulkner in November 1942 in South Bend. Mrs. Faulkner worked at the Studebaker plant in South Bend for 10 years. She moved to California in 1951 and then to Everson in 1990. She worked as a secretary for Santa Clara Unified School District in California and was active in the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed square and line-dancing. Mrs. Faulkner was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Silver, in 1988. Survivors include her husband of Los Gatos, daughter Linda Lovison of Everson, sons John Faulkner of Dana Point, Calif., and David Faulkner of Pacifica, Calif., brother Wilbur Harper of Las Vegas and six grandchildren.
FAULKNER, Vera May, age 63, of Ferndale passed away at her home Saturday, Jan. 2, (1954) following a brief illness. Mrs. Faulkner had resided in Whatcom County for the greatest part of the last 50 years, was a member of the Methodist Church and W. S. C. S. of Ferndale. She is survived by her husband A. L. Faulkner, 2 sisters Mrs. R. R. Handy of Seattle, Mrs. A. P. Burggraff of Nooksack, one brother Clarence Nichols of Everson, four nieces and one nephew. FAUPEL, Jeffrey J., 23, died Sunday, July 26, 1992 in a car accident that occurred in Bellingham. Born Oct. 9, 1968, in Bellingham to Fred and Jackie Faupel, Mr. Faupel lived in Sedro-Woolley and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1987. Mr. Faupel was an active participant in football, baseball, and track and was a member of the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Aerie No. 2069. He worked most recently as a bartender in Sumas. Survivors include his parents, Fred and Jackie Faupel; brothers Rick Faupel of Lynden, Scott Faupel of Everson, Joe Faupel of California, Dan Pfluger and Brook Pfluger of Sedro-Woolley; sister Michelle Dralle of Sedro-Woolley; grandmother Katherine Jensen of Sedro-Woolley; and nine nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fiance, Stephanie Cushen, of Sedro-Woolley and her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Sedro-Woolley Free Methodist Church with the Rev. FAUROT, Faye V., formerly of Whatcom County, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, in Grangeville, Idaho. She was 97. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery in Grangeville. Born Nov. 23, 1899, to Charles and Estella Hess McCoy in Hutchinson, Kan., she was raised in Kansas. She married Bill Dunnavan in 1923 in Baca County, Colo. He died in 1933. Mrs. Faurot worked as a cook and housekeeper for farm workers and operated an 80-acres farm during World War II. She also worked at Farragut Naval Base in Idaho and as a babysitter. She married Albert Faurot in 1934. They later divorced. Mrs. Faurot lived in Sandpoint, Idaho, Spokane, Custer and Ferndale before moving to Grangeville in 1994. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and animals, especially cats. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Beavers, and a brother, Chester Bell. Survivors include daughter Arlene Palmer of Grangeville, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
FAUSKE, Ivar, age 74 of Sumas, passed away May 31, (1966) Tuesday, following a short illness. Mr. Fauske was a retired merchant seaman and logger and had served in WWI. He is survived by one sister, Anne Olson, Creswell, Ores., and a niece, Bonita Lockert, Sumas. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
FAUST, Edward Eugene, 74, of 1400 36th St., died at home Monday (Oct. 16, 1989) after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Fish Trap. A member of the Bellingham Elks Lodge, he was the owner of Smith Bakery and Cafeteria for many years. His wife, Mary Faust, died eight years ago. At his request, no services will be held. FAYER, Jean F., age 71, of Seattle, died Sat. Jan. 12, 1985 in a Seattle hospital. Surviving is her husband, Maurice, Seattle; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Talbot, Bellevue and Eleanor Fischer, Clinton, Wash.; 2 sons, Kenneth of Bellevue and David of Encinitas, Calif.; a daughter, Kristi Champagne, Bellingham; 5 grandchildren. Memorial services were held Tuesday, January 15, at 2 p.m. in the Christ Episcopal Church, Seattle.
FAYETTE, Erleen V., age 69 of Gig Harbor, WA passed away Wed., July 21, (1993) at St. Joseph's Hospital Tacoma, WA. He (sic) was born June 9, 1924 in Westbrook, Maine to Kenneth & Phyllis Ingalls. She was raised & schooled in Westbrook and left there in 1955 to move to Washington. She married Jack G. Fayette on Dec. 23, 1989 in Reno, Nevada. She was a data processor at Puget Sound Naval Supply Center for 16 years and retired in 1971 because of disability. She was an active member of the National Association of Federal Employees. Erleens pride & joy were her family. She had accomplished & mastered sign language because of very dear friends that were deaf. She was a self-taught pianist. She leaves to survive: Husband, Jack of the family home; daughters Martha Johnson of Kirkland, Wa. Susan Henshow of Gig Harbor, WA; son, Peter Bernier of Gresham, OR; sisters Bette Doucette of Tacoma, WA & Rosemary Parker of Sacramento, CA; brother, Ken Ingalls of Auburn, WA; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services will be held on Mon., July 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton, WA
FAYETTE, Ethel E., 86, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away at the local hospital July 10, (1978). She was born March 5, 1892, in Missouri. She had lived in the Anacortes area since 1935. Here husband preceded her in death in 1963. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Eiford of Mt. Vernon and Violet Senff of Anacortes; 1 son, Howard, also of Anacortes; 1 half-sister, Leona Fouts of Shelton, Washington; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Wed., July 12 at 1 p.m. from the Greenacres Cemetery, Ferndale, Washington. Rev. William Buckner will officiate. Internment will follow. Evans Engdahl in charge of arrangements.
FAYETTE, Fred Francis, age 47 years, passed away suddenly in his home in Blaine Thursday (Aug. 22, 1946) morning. He had been a resident of Blaine for 41 years and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Fayette; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Fitzgerald, Minnie Mae Fayette, Patsy Ann Fayette, Dorothy Delores Fayette; four sons, Fred W. Fayette, Ed Seattle (sic), Jack Fayette, and Robert Fayette; eight grandchildren; one brother, George Fayette; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Gilbert, of Blaine, Mrs. Cunningham of White Rock, B. C., Mrs. Clara Bullock, of Seattle, Mrs. Vina Eby, of Smithers, B. C.; also several nieces and nephews. The body rests at the McKinney Funeral Home in Blaine where funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 26, at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. P. Thomas officiating. Interment Blaine Cemetery.
FAYETTE, George, 76, died Thursday (Aug. 1, 1963) aboard his gillnet fishing boat. He had been a resident of Anacortes since 1935, and was a retired mill worker. He is survived by his wife, Ethyl; a daughter, Mrs. John Eiford; a son, Howard, all of Anacortes, and eight grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryson-Engdahl Funeral Home, with burial at Greenacres.
FAYETTE, Phyllis Marian, 56, who grew up in Whatcom County, died Thursday (July 12, 1963) at the Messenger House Nursing Home on Bainbridge Island. She had Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Fayette, a Bremerton resident for many years, was born Jan. 20, 1930, at Friday Harbor. She grew up and was educated at Point Roberts and Blaine and graduated from Blaine High School in 1948, when she moved to Seattle. She married Lowell L. "Bud" Bowen. Mr. Bowen was later killed in an aircraft accident. She then married Jack Fayette on July 12, 1963, in Blaine. The couple made their home in Bremerton for many years. They later were divorced. Survivors include two sons, Dale R. Bowen of Olympia and David G. Bowen of Renton; a daughter, Michelle A. Fayette of Bremerton; two sisters, Maxine Auld of Blaine and Gail Morgan of Rocklin, Calif.; a brother, Dale Bridges of Puyallup; and her mother, Hazel Largaud Bridges of Blaine. Her father, Bob Bridges, and a brother, Bill Bridges, died earlier. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Blaine. Private burial services will be at Blaine Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Owyen-Hess Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
FAYETTE, Inga Pauline, age 84 who resided at 120 First Street, Blaine, passed away in a local nursing home Tuesday, December 2, 1980. She had been a 60 year resident of Blaine. She was a member of the Rebeccah Lodge; Royal Neighbors of America; American Legion; and Charter Member of the Eagles Area (sic) 3029. She leaves to survive 4 sons, Fred Fayette of Blaine; Ed of Arizona; Jack of Bremerton, & Bob of California; 4 daughters, Pearl Fitagerald of Arizona; Minnie Patterson of Lake Stevens; Patsy Howell of Port Angeles & Delores Fayette of Bellingham; 44 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m. in the Jerns-McKinney Funeral Chapel, Blaine with Julia Bran officiating. Followed by interment in Blaine Cemetery. [b. FAYLOR, William M., age 69, of Blaine, passed away at his home Friday, August 26, (1955). Mr Faylor was a retired restaurant operator in Bellingham and a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife, Martha; one daughter, Dorothy Faylor of Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Brooks, Guthrie, Okla.; Mrs. J. W. Hyde, Rushville, Mo.; three brothers, Harrison, Merrick, Okla., Fred Faylor, Ponca City, Okla, and [line skipped]. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. from the Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home. Cremation.
