ELLEDGE, Frank Oney, of 1634 Humboldt Street, passed away at the family residence Saturday evening, August 9, (1947) at the age of 59 years. He had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty years and was a retired fireman. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Hope Lodge No. 79. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. George Fayette, of Anacortes, Washington, Mrs. Leona Thomas, of Belfair, Wash., and Mrs. Charles Rocca, of Enumclaw, Wash., and many nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be conducted within the Rose Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home Wednesday, August 13, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. G. Raymond White of the Broadway United Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by cremation.

ELLEDGE, Hazle, age 76, of 5197 Byers Rd., Bellingham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, (1977). Mrs. Elledge had been a resident of Whatcom County since 1941 and was a former member of the Ten Mile Grange. She is survived by 3 sons, Virgil of Pasco, Wayne of N. Bellingham and Joe of Sacramento, Calif.; 6 daughters, Edyth Johnson of Bellingham, June LaBounty of N. Bellingham, Berneice Stull of Olympia, Willa Quinn of Carnation, Vada Skinner of Kennewick, Iva Lee Neer of Bothell; 1 sister, Fay Thume of Columbus, Nebraska; 1 brother-in-law, Jack Elledge of Ukiah, Calif.; 35 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. in Moles Funeral Chape. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.

ELLEDGE, Virgil Robb went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on July 26, 2003 in Peoria, AZ where he resided with his sister Berneice Stull. Virgil was born in Nuckels County, Nebraska on February 5, 1919, first son to Ernest and Hazel Elledge. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after Pearl Harbor and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Tennessee during WWII. Virgil is survived by his son Rob Elledge and daughter Charel Elledge of Pasco, WA; son Gary Elledge of Yakima, WA; son Lon Elledge of Alameda, CA; two step-daughters JoAnn Vance of Lynnwood, WA and Susan Brooks of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Virgil is also survived by his seven siblings Wayne, Joe, June, Berneice, Willa, Vada, and Iva Lee. Preceded in death by sister Edith. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 31st, 2:00 p.m. at Greenacres-Moles Cemetery in Ferndale.

ELLEFSEN, Herman, age 87 of 1200 Birchwood, passed away Oct. 5, (1975). A resident of Whatcom County for the past 66 years, Mr. Ellefsen was a retired blacksmith and a member of Calvary Temple for more than 50 years. Surviving daughters, Mrs. Emma Bloom of Bellingham and Mrs. Inez Lewton of Coos Bay, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren. ELLERSICK, Barbara V. "Bobbie" 68, of Bremerton and formerly of Bellingham, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1987) at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. She was born July 30, 1918, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, and had grown up in Post Falls, Idaho. She married Howard K. Ellersick in 1937 in Ione, Wash. Mrs. Ellersick and her husband lived in Bellingham from 1949 to 1964, where she worked in doctors' offices as a medical secretary and an office manager. She returned to Post Falls in 1964 and moved to Shelton in 1981. Mrs. Ellersick had lived in Bremerton the past three years. She was well known for her homemaking abilities, including handwork, gardening and carpentry. Survivors include her husband, Howard Ellersick; two daughters, Deanna Coady of Poulsbo and Terry Starlund of McBride, B.C.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The body will be cremated. A memorial service is planned for the spring in Post Falls, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Funeral Chapel of Bremerton.

ELLERSICK, George H., age 77 years, of Deming, Wash., passed away at a local hospital, Thursday, March 25, (1948) following a lingering illness. Mr. Ellersick had been a resident of Whatcom County for only six months, having lived near Newport, Wash., for many years previously. Surviving relatives include four sons, George Jr. and Fred, both of Newport, Wash., Ernie, of Lakeside, Ore., and Howard, of Deming; two daughter, Mrs. D. L. Willey, Bellingham, and Mrs. Ed R. Wilkins, Bremerton; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, also numerous other relatives. The remains are being forwarded from the Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home to Spokane, Wash., where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, and interment made.

ELLERSICK, Howard K. - Memorial services for former Bellingham resident Howard K. Ellersick, 77, of Bremerton will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Post Falls, Idaho. Mr. Ellersick died Monday (Oct. 14, 1991) at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. He was born on June 13, 1914, in Riverside, Idaho. He was raised in Ione, Wash., where he married Barbara "Bobbie" Hampton on Aug. 8, 1937. Mr. Ellersick came to Bremerton during World War II and stayed until the late-1940s. He then moved to Bellingham where he and his wife lived until the mid-1960s. He then lived in Post Falls, Idaho, before moving back to the Bremerton area. He was an excellent writer, especially in letters to his family. He also wrote prose and poetry. Mr. Ellersick was called the "Wheaton Way Walker". He enjoyed whittling, loved baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoyed many different varieties of music. His wife died on Jan. 24, 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Deanne Coady of Poulsbo, and Terey (sic) Starlund of Williams Lake, B.C.; three step-children; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton.

ELLERT, Richard H. of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2000 in Bellingham. He was 74, born June 11, 1925 in Rossatz, Austria. During WWII, Mr. Ellert served in both the German and Austrian armed forces. After the war, he lived in occupied Austria until 1969 when he moved to Bellevue, WA. There he operated his own furniture business "Austrian Design," until his retirement. He was also a published author. Mr. Ellert enjoyed traveling and resided in Surprise, AZ part of the year after his retirement. He is survived by Hilde Hinds of Bellingham, son Walter of Germany, daughter Ulrike of Austria, and sister Poldi of Austria. At his request there will be no local services. Inurnment will take place in Austria. Arrangements by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

ELLINGBOE, Edmund - Memorial Services for Edmund (Ed), age 77 of 2562 Lummi View Dr., will be Tuesday May 16. at 1 p.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation with internment at Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Ellingboe passed away May 11, (1989) after a short illness. Born May 29, 1911 in Minneapolis, MN., a Newhalem resident between 1951-1973 where he worked as a painter with Seattle City Light, then moved to Gooseberry Point. He was a member of the Sons of Norway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy in 1987. He is survived by 3 daughters, Judy & husband Wendell Giebel of Arlington, Joyce & husband Jerry Williams of Custer, Jane & husband Bill Case of Lynden; son Michael & wife Barbara Ellingboe of Anchorage, AK; 12 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. ELLINGBOE, Margaret Bates, age 67, of 2562 Lummi View Dr., Bellingham, passed away in Bellingham, Tues., Sept. 15th, (1987). She was born Feb. 28, 1920 in Seattle, WA and had been a resident of this community since 1951. She and her husband Edmund were married 46 years ago. She was an active member of the Park Athletic Club, Sons of Norway for 46 years, and she enjoyed sewing. She leaves to survive her husband, Edmund; 3 daughters, Joyce & husband Jerry Williams of Custer, Judy & husband Wendell Giebel of Arlington, Jane & husband Bill Casee of Lynden; son Mike & wife Barbara Ellingboe of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Myrtle Sleipnes of Seattle;12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; nieces & nephews. ELLINGFORD, Keith J. of Roosevelt, Utah, died of cancer at home Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997. He was 62. Born Jan 4, 1935, in Atlanta, Idaho, to Thomas Gilbert and Ora Moosman Ellingford, he married Virginia "Darlene" Zarro on Feb. 13, 1960, in San Francisco. Mr. Ellingford lived in Everson for 12 years and owned Triple-E Hoof Trimming. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and telling stories to his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, of Roosevelt; sons Mike Ellingford of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Glenn Ellingford of Roosevelt; daughter Darlene Edwards of Salt Lake City; his mother, of Roosevelt; sisters Ina Rae Jarman of Burley, Idaho, Doris Ellingford and Fay McKenna of Roosevelt, and Vickie Fitzgerald of Bridgeland; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ELLINGSEN, Gertrude Ethel, 92, of Anacortes, WA. died Saturday April 4, 1992 in a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 18, 1899 in Canistota, SD to Adam and Alice Rauch formerly of Whatcom County. She came to Washington State as a young girl and lived in Bellingham, Marysville, Everett,and Anacortes, WA. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Ellingsen was preceded in death by her husband Roy McComas, in 1932; her second husband Elmer Ellingsen, in 1968; a son Bruce McComas, in 1930; seven sisters and three brothers. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara McComas of Anacortes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and David Fox of Anacortes, WA, and Roberta and Edmund Carlson of Santa Rosa, CA; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Thursday 11 a.m. April 9, 1992 at Marysville cemetery.

ELLINGSEN, Hagen John, age 86, passed away at the family home, 1511 Iron Street, Friday, July 21, (1950). Mr. Ellingsen had been a resident of this community for the past 36 years and was a retired tailor. Deceased was a member of the Gladstone Methodist Church and leaves to survive his widow, Sine, at home; two sons, Eldrin and Reuben, both of Seattle; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gordon, of Seattle, and Mrs. Esther Simpson, of Bellingham; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Anton, of Marysville, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by the Rev. O. T. Field, Monday, July 24th, at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View.

ELLINGSEN, Sina M., age 97, formerly of 1511 Iron St., passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, Jan. 26, (1961). Widow of the late Hagen Ellingsen, she had resided in Bellingham for the past 45 years; was formerly a member of the Gladstone Methodist Church; was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Simpson of Bellingham, and Mrs. Ruth Gordon of Seattle; two sons, Reuben Ellingsen of Seattle and Elmer Ellingsen of Centralia; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor Norman Dahle and the Rev. Mrs. O. T. Field, Monday, Jan. 30, at 3:30 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View Cemetery.

ELLINGSON, Anna V., age 71, of Rt. 2, Box 323 Lynden passed away in a local hospital Friday, March 18, (1960). Mrs. Ellingson had been a 48 year resident of this community and was a member of the Central Lutheran Church, and a member of the Laurel Grange. Surviving relatives are three sons, Erling and Herman both at home, Leif of Seattle; two daughters, Miss Norma Ellingson of Whidby Island and Mrs. June Grove of Seattle; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Solvik, Mrs. Josephine Markvold and Miss Nico Wikstrom all in Norway, also two nephews, Jens Solvik of Everson and Norman Solvik of Seattle. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor Oscar A. Jacobson Wednesday, Mar. 23, at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

ELLINGSON, Ellen Tisdel, age 69, of Bellingham, passed away Saturday, February 23, 1991 at her home. Her survivors include: her husband Herman of the family home; a son Dennis Ellingson and his wife Joyce of Bellingham; a daughter Diane Jones and her husband Paul of Seattle; 4 grandchildren, Kim Greenberg, Ryan Ellingson, and Jason and Julie Jones; 1 great grand daughter, Kailynn Ellingson; 2 brothers, Laurel Tisdel of Bellingham, and Tom Tisdel of Seattle; 2 sisters, Jenett Hanson of Seattle and Hilda Gregory of Yuma, AZ. ELLINGSON, Herman Arnold of Bellingham died Thursday, Jan. 13, 1994, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 71. No services will be held. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park. Born March 14, 1922, in Lynden to Leonard and Anna Ellingson, he lived in the Wiser Lake area until four years ago. Mr. Ellingson worked as a well driller and a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen, and his brothers, Erling Ellingson and Leif Ellingson. Survivors include daughter Diane Jones of Seattle; son Dennis Ellingson of Bellingham; sisters Norma Bartleson of Bellingham and June Grove of Bothell; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. ELLINGSON, Leonard A., age 71, of Route No. 2, Lynden, passed away at the family home Monday, September 15, (1952). Mr. Ellingson had resided in this community for the past 40 years, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Central Lutheran Church in Bellingham, a member of the Laurel Grange, the Washington Co-op Farmers Association, and the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Anna V. Ellingson, at the family home; three sons: Erling, at home, Leif, of Seattle, and Herman, of Route No. 2, Lynden; two daughters, Miss Norma Ellingson, of Bremerton, and Mrs. June Grove, of Seattle; six grandchildren; two brothers, Carl and Edward Ellingson, both in Norway; and a nephew, Trygve Ellingson, of Seattle. ELLINGSON, Neil B., age 66, of 855 W. Lake Samish Dr., Bellingham, passed away Wed. April 17, 1991. Born December 9, 1924 in Everett, WA to Albert and Lucille Puckett Ellingson, he was a Bellingham resident since 1948; Past Commander and life member of William Mathews V.F.W. Post #1585, Bellingham; member of Antique Auto Restorer's Club of Whatcom County and Sons of Norway. ELLIOT, Bradelia C., who resided at 415 No. Forest, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 6, (1961) following an extended illness. Mrs. Elliot resided in Bellingham for the past 34 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Altar Society and a member of the Rotarian and Auxiliary. Mrs. Elliot, the former Bradelia Coffee, was married to Earle Williams Elliot in Ogden, Utah, on April 9, 1909. They came to Bellingham in 1927 and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in this city in 1958. She leaves to survive her husband, Earle Williams Elliot, her sister, Mrs. Anna Wasley of Bellingham, her niece, Mrs. Haroer(?) Ulhand, her nephew, Emmett Hood, both residing in Idaho. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home. Requiem high mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 9, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment, Bay View Cemetery.

ELLIOT, Earle Williams, age 76, who resided at 415 N. Forest St., passed away in his home, Tuesday, April 16, (1963) following an extended illness. Mr. Elliot had resided in Bellingham for the past 36 years. In 1927 he bought out Cline and Young and opened the Golden Rule Dept. Store still located in Bellingham. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Holy Names Society and Knights of Columbus. Mr. Elliot was a member of the Rotary Club and served on the advisory Board of St. Joseph's General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bredelia Elliot in 1960. He leaves to survive his brother, Charles Elliot in Bellingham, 3 nieces, Mrs. Marion Acquistapace of Santa Marie, Calif., Mrs. Lois Brown of Upper Mountclair, New Jersey, Mrs. Ethel McKelvey of Rawlins, Wyoming. Rosary will be on Thursday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Bingham Jerns Funeral Home. Requiem high mass will be offered by Rev. Father Thomas R. ELLIOTT, Albert H., age 76 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Lula Elliott, 1208 Astor Street, passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, February 18, (1947) following a lingering illness. Mr. Elliott had been a resident of Bellingham for the past ten years, a very active member of the Salvation Army, Citadel Corps. He was also a member of Townsend Club No. 5. Surviving relatives include, beside the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Lula Lambert, Payette, Idaho, Mrs. Leona Harris, Yakima, and Mrs. Lois Brantley, Bellingham; two sons, Marvin and Otho, of Bellingham, and twelve grandchildren; also three stepsons, Evan Roberts, of Mount Vernon, Tom Warrington, of Blaine, and O. P. Warrington, of Bellingham. Funeral services will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Monday, February 24, at 1:30 p.m. with Brigadier Guy W. Case, of Seattle, officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

ELLIOTT, Barrie Jeremy – A memorial service for Barrie "Tico" Jeremy Elliott of Burnaby, B.C., formerly of Blaine, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday on the beach at Birch Bay State Park. Mr. Elliott died Tuesday, Sept 26, 2000 at Burnaby General Hospital in Burnaby. He was 24. Born Oct 18, 1975, to Lorne Elliott and Beth Green in Abbotsford, B.C., he moved to Whatcom County in 1982 and graduated from Blaine High School in 1992. Mr. Elliott was a movie-studio set builder. His interests included riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping, water sports and concerts. Survivors include son Brodie Nero, stepdaughter Bianca Echo and their mother Linda Suttie, all of Burnaby; his mother of Blaine and father of Port Coquitlam, B.C.; sister Kareena Elliott of Port Coquitlam; and many other relatives.

ELLIOTT, Berniece L., age 83 passed away in a Blaine nursing home, Mon. March 17, 1980. She was a long time resident of the Blaine area, and was a retired Registered Nurse. She leaves to survive 2 daughters, Gertrude Elliott and Donna Smith both of California. Graveside services will be held Wed. March 19th at 1 p.m. at Greenacres Cemetery, with Rev. ELLIOTT, Carll Curtis, age 81, passed away Fri., Oct. 22, (1976) in Seattle. Mr. Elliott was a retired builder and shipyard superintendent in Seattle. He is survived by his wife, Lena Rudolph Elliott of the family home; a son, Carl Clifford Elliott of Seattle; a sister, Loveta Collopy of Bellingham; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sat., Oct. 23 in Seattle. Interment followed Wed., Oct. 27 at Bay View Cemetery in Bellingham.

ELLIOTT, Effie M., age 71, of 1511 James Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, May 9, (1947). Mrs. Elliott has been a resident of this community for the past 48 years and was a member of the First Christian church. Surviving relatives are two sons, F. Joseph and George Milton, of Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Franklin, of Ashland, Ore.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Benedict, of Portland, Ore.; and one sister, Miss May Benedict, of Ashland, Ore. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by Dr. A. Paul Daugherty Monday, May 12, at 3 p.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn.

ELLIOTT, Elma B., age 81, of 3600 Connelly, passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, Nov. 24, (1960). She was a member of the St. James Presbyterian Church. Survived by her husband, Thomas Elliott; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bauter of Bellingham, Mrs. Lena Cammack of Bellingham; two sons, Franklin Elliott of Bellingham ad Harry Elliott of Quilcene, Wash.; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Smith of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, Canada; one sister, Mrs. Clara Elliott of Ottawa, Canada. Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, followed by burial in Greenacres Memorial Park.

ELLIOTT, Eula Brown of Castle Rock, Wash., died Tuesday, April 13, 1993. She was 89. At her request, no services will be held. She moved to Whatcom County with her family when she was a child, and graduated from Whatcom High School and from Westerly Washington University in the 1920s. She was Tulip Queen of the first tulip festival in Bellingham in the early 1920s. Mrs. Elliott taught school in Spanaway for many years. Her husband, Rex Elliott, preceded her in death. She is survived by nephews Floyd Brown of Des Moines and Pirre Brown of Yakima; and sister-in-law Louese Brown Smith of Bellingham.

ELLIOTT, George "Milt" of Bellingham died Monday, March 28, 1994, at Alderwood Convalescent Center. He was 93. At his request, no services will be held. Mr. Elliott was born April 3, 1900, to Frank and Effie Elliott in Bellingham. His only absence from Bellingham was while he served in the U.S. Marines during World War I. He married Velma A. Reed on July 26, 1926, in Everett. They lived on McLeod Road. Mr. Elliott delivered oil throughout the county for Associated Oil. He was a life member of the American Legion Post No. 7 in Bellingham. His wife died Dec. 1, 1990. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Elliott, and his sister, Eva. ELLIOTT, George Lyle, age 77, of 1509 E. Victor Street, passed away Saturday (April 1, 1967) after an extended illness. He was a veteran of W.W.I. and leaves to survive a brother, Carl C. ELLIOTT, Harry George - Visitation for Harry G. Elliott, 69, a retired commercial fisherman from Blaine, will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel. Prayer services will be at 1:30 a p.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Blaine with the Rev. Jack Buckalew officiating. Burial will be at Blaine Cemetery. Mr. Elliott, 9806 Jerome St., died Wednesday (April 6, 1988) in Blaine, where he was a resident for three years. Born July 8, 1918, near the Columbia River in Washington, Mr. Elliott was a commercial fisherman in Puget Sound and the Columbia River. He also was a duck hunter. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Elliott; five sons, Bruce Elliott of Blaine, Lawrence Elliott of Lacey, Jerome Elliott of Yakima, Roger Elliott of Nevada and Stanley Elliott of Oregon; five brothers, Joe and Ben Elliott of California, George and Donald Elliott of Oregon and Arthur Elliott of Colorado; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ELLIOTT, Irene M., 93, of Bellingham died Monday (Jan. 27, 1986) at Shuksan Convalescent Center. She had been a second-grade teacher at the Campus Teacher Training School at Bellingham Normal School, now Western Washington University. She was born Jan. 9, 1893, in Greensburg, Pa., and was orphaned at age 10. After short periods in other orphanages and boarding schools, she became a resident at "The Hill" in Oakland, Calif., where F. M. Smith of The Borax Co. had set up cottages on his estate for orphan girls. She attended grade school and high school there, then attended the Normal School for Teacher Training in San Francisco. Her teaching experience included a two-room Union Oil field school east of Orcutt, Calif., in 1913. She also taught elementary grades in Oakland, summer school at Ohio State University and the University of North Carolina, and private schools in Tulsa, Okla., and Brooklyn, N.Y. She later taught at Columbia Teachers College and received her bachelor and master's degrees there. She came to Bellingham in 1931. At her request, no services were held. Private cremation and inurnment were at the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

ELLIOTT, Judith Ann of Bellingham died Saturday, March 5, 1994. She was 52. A memorial service will be held in Winter Haven, Fla. Born Sept. 17, 1941, to Gustave and Betty Poston Miller in Wabash, Ind., she lived in Whatcom County the past 15 years. Mrs. Elliott had taught school in Michigan and was active in local and state politics. A member of First Reformed Church in Lynden, she enjoyed flowers and drawing. Survivors include son David Elliott of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter Mary Serravalle of Tampa, Fla.; sisters Marty Snyder of Everson and Cindy Whalen of Lake Stevens; brother Jon Miller of South Haven, Mich.; mother Betty Shannon of Winter Haven; grandson David Benjamin Elliott of Woodbridge; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews. ELLIOTT, Kathleen - Bellingham resident Kathleen Elliott died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1993. She was 88. Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. tonight at Hulbush Funeral Home in Burlington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington. Burial will follow at Bay View Cemetery. Mrs. Elliott was born Sept. 27, 1904, in Newcastle, to A. T. "Jeff" Jeffries and Mary Geogerty Jeffries. She moved to Concrete with her family when she was a child. They moved in 1920 to Mount Vernon, where she graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1922. She married G. H. "Doc" Elliott on Jan. 21, 1927, in La Conner. Mrs. Elliott worked in banking for 40 years until her retirement in 1968 as personnel manager at the Burlington branch of Rainier National Bank. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a former member of the Burlington Soroptomist Club. An avid bowler, she participated in many tournaments. Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her husband in 1966; also by a daughter Betty Farnham; a [rest not included].

ELLIOTT, Lula Belle, age 81 years, 1208 Astor Street, passed away at the family residence Monday, December 8, (1947). Mrs. Elliott had been a resident of Bellingham for the past twenty-three years and was a member of the Salvation Army, Citadel Corps of Bellingham, also of the Home League of that organization. ELLIOTT, Mitchell Allen - Services for former Bellingham resident Mitchell Allen Elliott, 24, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Funeral Home chapel. Mitchell, 24, of Renton, died Friday (Feb. 2, 1990) of injuries suffered in a construction site accident in Bellevue. He was born Nov. 21, 1965, in Bellingham and attended Bellingham schools until he was 16, when he moved to Renton. He graduated from Hazen High School and worked in the construction industry and in restoring antiques. While living in Bellingham, he worked as a paper boy for The Bellingham Herald. He also was an avid skier and enjoyed all sports. He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Jan Elliott of Auburn, and Sharin and Ken Lewis of Bellingham; grandparents Frank and Elayne Elliott of Honolulu, Hawaii, Lois Metcalfe of Bellingham and Dick and Feena Metcalfe of Medford, Ore.; great-grandmother Beatrice Angell of Bellingham; five brothers, Marshall, Matthew, Terry Lee and Alexander Elliott, all of Bellingham, and Don Elliott of Auburn; two sisters, Jinnell Elliott of Bellingham, and Rhonda Elliott of Auburn; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. ELLIOTT, Robert Lee, of Bellingham died Sunday, October 12, 1997 at his daughter's home in California. Born August 16, 1928 in San Francisco, CA to Eunice and William Elliott. He left California in 1980 to live on Lummi Island for several years to later move to Bellingham. He loved the sea, and made commercial fishing his occupation for twenty-seven years in Bristol Bay, Alaska retiring in 1987. Survived by his oldest daughter Christine and son-in-law Don Amato, Barbara Tripp, Julie and son-in-law Mike Blake, his oldest son Dirk and wife Debra Elliott, William and wife Diane, fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

ELLIOTT, Sammy, 52, a former Bellingham resident, died Thursday at his home in Gary, Ind. He was born May 19, 1928, in Peoria, Ill., and had been a local resident for 15 years. He was a 1946 graduate of Bellingham High School, and had attended Western Washington University. He is survived by his wife, Betty, three sons, a daughter, and his mother, Doris Louden of Bellingham. Funeral services were held Monday in Gary.

ELLIOTT, Thomas William, age 81, Quilcene, Wash., passed away in Port Townsend Saturday, Dec. 8, (1962). Mr. Elliott was a retired millworker having resided in this community until 1960 at which time he moved to Quilcene. He was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church. ELLIOTT, Wirt John, age 60, of Route 2, Everson, passed away in an Anacortes Hospital Tuesday, August 25, (1953). Mr. Elliott had resided in Whatcom County for the past 40 years, and was a retired instrument maker at the Bremerton Navy Yards. He was a member of the Christian Church, the Sedro Woolley Lodge No. 93, F. & A.M., and was a veteran with the U.S. Army during the First World War. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Maud M. ELLIS, Byron C., age 66, of 497 West King Tut Road, Bellingham, will be conducted on Sunday, September 12, at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Lynden with Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Born in Mt. View, California, Mr. Ellis moved to Whatcom County from San Jose in 1953. A retired custodian, Mr. Ellis died in a Bellingham hospital on Friday, September 3, (1982). He had been employed for many years at Georgia-Pacific and was a member of the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Union No. 309 of Bellingham and during World War II served in the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lynden and was married to Patricia Sprague in Port Angeles on May 22, 1948. He is survived by his wife Patricia; a daughter, Mrs. Charlene Mendoza of Granada Hills, California; a granddaughter, Kathy Mendoza; a sister, Mrs. Edith Gould of Cambell, California and numerous nieces and nephews. ELLIS, Carlos D. of 878 Autumn Lane died Monday, Nov. 1, 1993. He was 65. Private family memorial services will be held. Mr. Ellis was born April 6, 1928, to Curt and Ruth (Slaughter) Ellis in Drumright, Okla. He retired from the Navy as an electronics technician and was a member of the Naval Fleet Reserve Association. ELLIS, Dale E., age 79, of 2804 Huron St., died Sept. 7, (1989). He was born April 5, 1920 in Argos, Indiana, the son of Robert Alan Ellis & Lucy Johnson Ellis. He graduated from high school in Salem, Oregon. After attending Utah State University at Logan he entered the U.S. Air Corp as an Aviation Cadet. He flew B29's during WWII. He lost his airplane & crew on a bombing mission and spent 14 days alone on a one man life raft and he also participated in combat in Korea. He was Assistant Air Adjutant General at the Pentagon during the mid 50's. Colonel Ellis was with NORAD for many years until retirement in 1965. He married Marjorie Nunamaker in 1942. They had 3 sons, Steven of Alaska, Robert of Spokane and Thomas of Bellingham; he had 6 grandchildren. Retirement years brought a variety of hobbies. He raised beef cattle, sport fished, hunted and learned to be a jeweler. He taught silversmith classes to students 3 time a year. He became a rock hound and enjoyed field trips throughout the U.S. His great joy was the annual trek to fish the Kenai River in Alaska and battle the "Big Ones". His personal king record was 63 lbs. He leaves to survive his wife Marjorie of the family home & 3 sons, Steven & his wife Susan of Alaska, Robert & his wife Debra of Spokane and Thomas & his wife Janet of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren & 2 sisters, Louise Bosley of Salem, Oregon and Wilma Smith of Longview, WA. There will be viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 9 and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 10 at the Westford Funeral Home. Funeral service with military honors will be Mon. ELLIS, Doddie M. - Visitation for Doddie M. Ellis, 51, of Bellingham will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home. A service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Cemetery. Miss Ellis, who lived in Bellingham with her dogs in her van, died Friday of a ruptured blood vessel in her brain. She was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Omaha, Neb., and had lived in Bellingham since 1985. Ellis, both of Seattle, and Dorothy Parks of Portland, Ore.; brothers Ronald Ellis of Berkeley, Calif., and Robert, David and Terry Ellis, all of Seattle; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

ELLIS, Donald Stanford, 48, of Snoqualmie, a former resident of the Ferndale area, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1953) in a Seattle hospital after an extended illness. The services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Monroe Funeral Home in Ferndale, with burial in the family plot in Enterprise cemetery. Mr. Ellis was a member of the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and two sons, Don, at the home, and Wallace, in San Diego, and three grandchildren; also by one brother, Archie, of Everett, and two sisters, Mrs. John Doohan, Aberdeen, and Mrs. Grace Johnson, Longview. ELLIS, Edith Irene - Bellingham resident Edith "Skip" Irene Ellis died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1992. She was 68. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery. She was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Bellingham to Archie and Edith Ellis. A lifelong resident of Whatcom County, she graduated from Mount Baker High School. ELLIS, Ethel C., age 84, passed away Feb. 27, 1992 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1907 in Bellingham to Knute and Signe Evertz. She was preceded in death by her husband McKinley Ellis who passed away July of 1989. Survivors included her daughters, Joyce Eggleston and Beverly Kuljis and husband Martin all of Bellingham. ELLIS, Goldie M., age 73, a resident of Acme, died April 26, 1985 in Sedro Woolley. She was born in the McRae community near Sedro Woolley on Feb. 20, 1912, the daughter of Alexander and Martha Handy. She was united in marriage to Charles Ellis in 1933. The couple resided in Wenatchee from 1933 until 1941, moving to Acme where they since resided. She was active in bowling leagues, bowling for Park Bowl Lanes in Bellingham and Fair Weather Lanes in Sedro Woolley. She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Kay Ellis of Acme; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Carl Duling of Acme; numerous grand, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, her brothers and a sister. Funeral services for Goldie M. Ellis will be held Mon. ELLIS, Inga Hendrickson, Granada Hills, Calif., 57, died Jan. 25, (1984) at home. She was born January 4, 1927 in Bellingham, Wash. and received her schooling in Whatcom County schools, graduating from Meridian High in 1945. She received her nurses training at Deaconess Hospital of Spokane and graduated from Whitworth College of Spokane. She married George Ellis of Spokane in 1950 and moved to California in 1951. Survivors include her husband George at home and three sons, John, Joey and Raymond of Granada Hills; a brother, Roy, Wenatchee, Wash. She was preceded in death by her father in 1972 and her mother in 1980. Funeral services were held in Granada Hills, Calif.

He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Jack and Beulah Ellis. Mr. Ellis had been living at Alderwood Park Care Center in Bellingham. He enjoyed reading. ELLIS, James Nicholas of Bellingham died at his home Thursday, August 7, 1997. He was 88. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Unity Church of Bellingham, 1095 Telegraph Road. Mr. Ellis was born Sept. 2, 1908, in Denver, Colo., to Etta and Elmer Ellis. He grew up in Boise, Idaho, and attended the University of Idaho before transferring to the University of Washington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in fisheries. He later did post-graduate work in hydrology and microbiology. He worked for the Boeing Co. during World War II. Then, he returned to his speciality and was a pioneer in the design and management of fish farms. Mr. Ellis was an assistant researcher at the University of Washington. He also managed and directed research programs for the Oceanic Institute in Waimanalo, Hawaii, and worked as a consultant in South Africa, Puerto Rico, Tahiti, Mexico and across the United States. In 1970, Mr. Ellis came to Bellingham as fisheries director for the Lummi Aquaculture Project. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and photography, and being with his family. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife Joy; son Nick of Great Falls, Mont.; step-children Pam Janszen of Saturna Island, B.C., Fred Johnson of Everson and Debbie Pobst of Plain; sister Katherine Thomas of Spokane; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

ELLIS, James S., 85, died in a Sedro-Woolley Nursing Home on Saturday (June 18, 1988). Born June 4, 1904, in Beardsley, Minn., he came to Washington in 1922. In 1924 he married Vivian Handy in Eastern Washington. She died in 1957. He married Mabel Handy three years later. She died in 1979. Mr. Ellis was employed as a dairyman, millworker and logger, and also worked in construction. Survivors include two sons, Albert Ellis of Blaine and George Ellis of Sedro-Woolley; a daughter, Dorothy Beutler of Wickersham; five stepsons, Allen Handy, Howard Handy, George Handy, Kenneth Handy and Robert Handy, all of Sedro-Woolley; a stepdaughter, Barbara Eaton of Sedro-Woolley; two brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third St., Sedro-Woolley, officiated by the Rev. Warren Schumacher of Mount Vernon.

ELLIS, Kate L., age 70, of 1530 Kentucky Street, passed away in a local hospital, Wednesday, August 17, (1949). Mrs. Ellis had resided in this community for the past 60 years and was a member of the First Christian Church. Deceased had attended the Normal School and leaves to survive one son, John D., of Seattle, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Land, of Bellingham. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Mr. Ray S. Wagoner, Friday, August 19, at 3 p.m., D.S.T. Cremation.

ELLIS, Leta Mae, age 81, of Mt. Vernon formerly of Bellingham died Friday July 29, 1988. She was born May 19, 1907 in Garrett, Oklahoma where she was raised & educated, graduating from Boise City High School. Rita (sic) married Carl Mellott, August 11, 1927 in Boise City, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death in 1959. They moved to Everson in 1928 & to Mt. Vernon in 1941. She married Rufus S. Ellis in Anacortes in 1966, he preceded her in death in 1986. Lita (sic) then moved back to Skagit County. She worked at local canneries until retiring in 1973 & was a member of Teamsters Local 788. She is survived by 1 son & daughter-in-law Norm & Judie Mellot (sic) of Mt. Vernon; daughter Phyllis Albertine; 4 grandchildren Mark Albertine of Everett, Gary Albertine of Edmonds, Beckie Luvera of Mt. Vernon, Laurie Mallot (sic) of Seattle; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Jennie Deardueff of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Edna Strasner of Boise City, Oklahoma, Beulah Garlengton of Boise City, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Graveside services will be Monday August 1, 1988 at 11 a.m. at Hawthorne Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Paul Jensen officiating. Reception will follow.

ELLIS, Mabel Handy, age 79, a Sedro Woolley resident since 1918, passed away at her home Tues., Sept. 25, 1979. Survived by her husband, James Ellis; 5 sons, Allen, Howard, George, Ken & Robert Handy all of Sedro Woolley; a daughter, Barbara Eaton of Sedro Woolley; 2 step sons George Ellis and Albert Ellis of Blaine; a step daughter, Dorothy Beutler of Acme; 1 sister and 2 brothers; numerous grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sat., Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. at the Lemley Chapel, followed by interment in Sedro Woolley Union Cemetery.

ELLIS, Mary Lou, 76, of 1131 Humboldt St., died Friday (Oct. 9, 1987). Mrs. Ellis was born April 12, 1911, in Boise, Idaho and lived in Bellingham the last 17 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church of Boise and the Gooseberry Point Fire Department Auxiliary. She was initiated into Boise Chapter 65, Order of Eastern Star and later became a charter member of the Haggerman, Idaho, Chapter 78, Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Ellis also was a lifetime member of the University of Idaho's Alpha Phi International Sorority. Survivors include a son, James N. "Nick" Ellis of Bellingham; and a sister, Helen M. Larsen of Seattle. Services were Monday at Jones Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald K. Reddell of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was in Greenacres Memorial Park.

ELLIS, McKinley, age 96, 3111 Eldridge Ave., passed away Mon. July 17, (1989) at St. Joseph Hospital. The family moved west in the early 1900's to homestead near Quincy in Eastern Washington. He started his banking career in Maxfield Washington Bank. After working for the State Banking Dept. as a bank examiner for 3 years he became president of Cashmere Farmer & Merchant Bank. In 1931 he moved to Bellingham to become president of Union Trust. In 1939 he became Vice President of Bellingham National Bank and president in 1955 and retired April, 1964 at age 71. He was a life member of Elks Lodge No. 194; member of Washington Club; Bellingham Golf & Country Club where he was president from 1945 to 1950. Survived by his wife, Ethel of the home; a son, Quentin & wife Rena of Renton, WA; a daughter, Marian Hunter & husband John of Rancho Mirage, CA; 2 step-daughters, Beverly & husband Martin Kuljis & Joyce Eggleston of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren, John, Mara, Shawna Hunter, all of Calif., Kelli Linville Roehl, Kerri Kuljis of Bellingham & Kim Newell of Everson; 6 great-grandchildren. ELLIS, Mildred Irene, 459 4th St., Blaine, succumbed to a heart attack Monday, Dec. 28, (1987) in Bellingham. She was 75. Ellis is survived by her husband, Clifford, and a daughter, Carol Ann Post, of Blaine; sons Donald E. Wilson, of Orange, Calif., and Gerald A. Wilson of Juneau, Alaska; granddaughters Catherine I. Post and Dawn A. Wilson, of Seattle; grandsons Donald T. Wilson and J. Scott Wilson, of Orange, Calif., Stuart C. MacLean, Bruce A. MacLean and Neil D. MacLean of Riverside, Calif., and Brent Wilson of Juneau; and a great granddaughter Jessica Ann MacLean. She was born in Blythe Calif. Her family had been pioneer orange growers. She and Clifford came to Blaine in 1983. She was active with Grace Lutheran Church and Blaine Senior Center. Mildred was admired for her gardening by friends and neighbors.

ELLIS, Moreen (Rauch), age 27 of 13220 Ash Way, Everett, died Tues. March 3, 1981. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; resident of Laurel Community until 1974; graduate of Meridian High School and Everett Community School of Nursing; member of American Association of Critical Care Nurses; formerly employed at St. Luke's Hospital, Everett General Hospital & Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton; for the past 6 years resided in Poulsbo & Everett. ELLIS, Norman, age 55 years, a resident of Sunset avenue, passed away at his home Friday, July 26, (1946) after a lingering illness. Mr. Ellis was born on a farm near Ferndale and is survived by the widow, Hazel; one daughter, Mrs. Opal Marsh, of Bellingham; one son, Rodney, in the U.S. army; two grandchildren; one brother, Harry Ellis, of Conrad, Montana; four sisters, Mrs. Chan Wood, of Ferndale, Mrs. Mabel Winrod, of Salem, Oregon, Mrs. Bessie Myren, of Everett and Mrs. Vivian Bulman, of Salinas, California. Funeral services will be conducted from the Monroe funeral home in Ferndale Tuesday, July 30, at 2 p.m. Interment in Enterprise cemetery.

ELLIS, P. Lorraine (Crowley) died July 12, 2005, at her Custer home after a long struggle with COPD. She was 75. She was born March 26, 1930, in Bellingham and was a life-long Whatcom County resident. A retired real estate broker, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, taking trips to the casino and watching her great-grandchildren play. She was a selfless woman with a heart of gold who enjoyed caring for others. She was a member of Duwamish Indian Tribe of Washington and the American Legion. Survivors include daughters Tammy Spurgeon (husband, Terry) and Linda Mills and sons Kurt Kemplinger (wife, Shelly) and John Ellis, all of Whatcom County; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

ELLIS, Parker, age 84, 2108 New Street, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, August 12, (1945). Mr. Ellis, who was a former instructor in various county schools, had resided in this vicinity the past fifty-one years. There no known surviving relatives. Funeral services were conducted from the Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home Thursday, August 16, at 3 p.m. with Elder A. J. Gordon officiating. Final resting place, Bay View Cemetery.

ELLIS, Patricia K., age 76 lifetime resident of Whatcom Co., died May 8, 1997 at St. Francis Ext. Health Care. She was born June 15, 1920 in Seattle, WA to Lilliam (sic) Sprague. Mrs. Ellis graduated from Lyden High School in 1940. She was married to Byron Ellis and worked 20 yrs. for Hilltop cafe and 20 yrs. for Hawley's Potatoes. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynden, WA. She enjoyed fishing, ceramics, and raising dogs to sell. Preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Sprague in 1959, her husband, Byron Ellis in 1982; and Brother Charles Sprague. Survived by her daughter Charlene and husband Herman Mendoza of Granada Hills, CA; one brother, Clarence Sprague of Warm Beach, WA. Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home Chapel Monday 9:00 to 5:00 and Tuesday 9:00 to 3:00. Memorial services will be held 12:30 Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at First Baptist Church, Lynden, WA. ELLIS, Robert E. "Red" 72, of 2027 Washington Street in Ferndale, died on Dec. 22, (1992) at a Bellingham nursing home. No services will be held, at his request. He was born to Robert and Nellie Ellis on Oct. 27, 1920, in Rochester, N.Y. He was a Whatcom County resident for 36 years. Mr. Ellis was a member of Post No. 9301, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Lynden. Survivors include: a son, John E. Ellis of Custer; a daughter Tammy K. Ellis of Custer; three granddaughters; a brother, Gordon Ellis of New Hartford, N.Y.; a sister, Char Pylman of Eagle Bay, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

ELLIS, Robert Herbert, age 73 years, of 3007 Ferry Street, was the victim of an accident, Wednesday afternoon, February 13, (1946). Mr. Ellis had been a resident of this community for the past seven years. He is survived by a niece, Mrs. John Schaeffer, of Ipsilante, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., in the cathedral chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Soiland, pastor of the American Central Lutheran church officiating. Interment, Bay View cemetery.

ELLIS, Rufus Seeley, 87 of Bellingham, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1986, at a Bellingham nursing home after an extended illness. He was born June 2, 1899, in Clifton Township, Wisc., where he was raised. He married Hazel Thompson in 1919 at Livingston, Wisc. She preceded him in death. In 1924 the moved to Texas, then Seattle, and settled in Whatcom County in 1928. He married Grace Cleo Wierman in 1928 and she preceded him in death in 1960. His occupation for many years was an auto body man and mechanic for Diehl Motors of Bellingham. He also farmed part-time as a hobby until 1967, when he left the car business and went into farming full-time. During World War II he worked in the shipyards as a welder. He lived and farmed for many years on Willeys Lake Road, near Lynden, then moved to a farm on the Axton Road. He married Leta Mellott Jan. 2, 1966, in Anacortes. He enjoyed his retirement since 1978, traveling to different parts of the world with his wife, Leta. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Frances Kaaland of Longview, Lola and husband Clarence Osgood of Lynden, Betty and husband Clarence Bailey of Ferndale, Ruth and husband Norman Long of Custer; one son, Robert and wife Maxine Ellis of Bellingham; one step-daughter, Phyllis Albertine of Mount Vernon; one step-son Norman and wife Judy Mellott of Mount Vernon; two brothers and one sister-in-law, all in Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Rufus Seeley Ellis will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 1986, at the Bellingham Covenant Church at 920 E. Sunset Dr. in Bellingham. The Rev. Harlie Goodwin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hawthorne Lawn Memorial Park in Mount Vernon.

ELLIS, Thaine A., 841 Garden Drive, Lynden, passed away at his home on Thursday, Nov. 14, 1991, following a long illness. Mr. Ellis was 75. He was born to Harley and Hazel (Gibler) Ellis on July 11, 1916 in Davis City, Iowa. He graduated from Leon High School in Iowa and attended Iowa State College. He also served in the Marine Corps during World War II and retired in 1972 as a Customs Agent on the California-Mexico border. While in California he was a member of the Elks and Moose lodges. He was married to Hannah Falen in Ames, Iowa on June 30, 1940. Hannah survives her husband at the family home. Other survivors include son Terry Ellis and wife Betty of Lynden; three daughters, Sandra Bender and husband Henry of Boulder City, Nev., and Linda Fenech and husband Tony of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Marcia Molnar and husband Alex of Santee, Calif.; brother Roy Ellis and wife Erma of Apple Valley, Calif; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Thaine was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harley Jr. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Gillies Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Horne officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

ELLISON, Carl Oscar, passed away in Bellingham on September 28, 1993. He was born in Tacoma on December 14, 1917. Beloved father of Carol Cozad and her husband Jim, Bellingham; Ron Ellison and his wife Mary, Anchorage. Grandfather of Jenessa, Elisa, and Michael Cozad; Robyn and Ronald Ellison. U.S. Navy veteran. Member of the Tacoma and Lake City (Seattle) Elks Lodges. Retired from Pacific Northwest Bell with over 35 years of service. Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 1993 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Green Lake Funeral Home, 7217 Woodlawn Avenue N.E., Seattle. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church (Green Lake), 7400 Woodlawn Avenue N.E., Seattle followed by graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at New Tacoma Cemetery, 9221 Chambers Creek Road, Tacoma.
