SURNAMES X through Z Everett Daily Herald 11/21/1933 George Jacob Zorn passed away at his home on route one early this morning after an illness of five weeks. Mr. Zorn was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on August 8, 1845. He moved to Burlington Iowa in 1866. There he was engaged in the grocery business for a number of years after which he was a member of the police department of that city. In 1909 Mr. Zorn moved from Iowa to Everett and a few months later to his present home on route one, near Snohomish. Mr. Zorn was married twice; first, in Indiana to Miss Elizabeth Boose (Boese; married 27 April 1879), who died in Iowa in 1885. Five children were born to this union; Charles W. of Los Angeles, Ca., Lilly May Hertzler of Berea, Ohio (now deceased) Frank B. of Beloit, WI, J. George of Claremont, CA, and Horace L. of Seattle. On September 4, 1893 Mr. Zorn was married to Miss Magdalena Pfaff of Bavaria, Germany. To this union was born a daughter, Helen E. now Mrs. Steve Gilbertson of this city. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Snohomish chapel of E.E. Purdy & Sons at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, The Rev. C.A. Marshall officiating. Interment will be in the G.A.R. cemetery.
