Everett Daily Herald December 13, 1910 Mrs. David NAIR died at the residence of her daughter, Isabelle WEEKS, at Grace, in Snohomish county, late yesterday, after having passed the 100-year mark. She attained the centennial of her birth October 28. The deceased woman was born in Scotland, and came to America in 1851, with her husband. He died in 1894 and the aged woman came to Washington to reside with her daughter. During recent years Mrs. Nair cut her third set of teeth. She enjoyed unimpaired faculties during the closing years of her life and suffered little from bodily ailment. Two granddaughters, Teanie COLVO and Margaret COE, constitute the other surviving descendants of the centenarian. Everett Daily Herald 10-11-1971 J.W. Nelson, 83, of 8515 40th Dr. N.E., Marysville, died 10-9- in Marysville. He was born Sept. 7, 1888, in Ishpeming, Mich., and had been a resident of the Everett-Seattle area since 1909. He had been an engineer for the Great Northern Railroad and was retired. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wiggens Funeral Home, Seattle. Everett Daily Herald 4/7/1913 Samuel H. Nichols, one of Everett's oldest pioneers, was buried this afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.J. Riley on Colby ave. The passing of the aged man removes from the Northwest one of its earliest political figures and a man who had much to do with Everett's growth. The casket of the former secretary of state was literally covered with beautiful flowers, tributes from his many friends in this city and other cities. The funeral services from the Riley home was private., none but immediate relatives and old friends being present. The pall-bearers were: A.S. Taylor, T.L. Grant, W.G. Swalwell, Joseph Irving, Dan Currie and J. Webster Hoover. Everett Daily Herald October 19, 1910 Ray C. NORRIS died at the Everett hospital Monday night as a result of four weeks struggle with typhoid. The deceased was 29 years of age and is survived by a wife and three children, who are at the home of L. STARKWEATHER, 2806 Summit Avenue. Ray C. NORRIS was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge of Boone, Mich., whither the body will be shipped by Maulsby & Sons for internment. Everett Daily Herald 11/3/1955 Mrs. Idaline A. Nye, 81, of 1811 24th St., died in a local hospital late Tuesday evening. She was born in Lapeer, MI., April 15, 1874, and had been a resident of Everett for the past 50 years. She was a member of Everett Chapter Women's Relief Corps, Service Star Legion and United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Clarence B. Nye of 1811 24th St.; two daughters, Mrs. Fae Irwin of 2215 Everett Ave. and Mrs. Clarice Hollister of Bremerton; two sons, Maurice E. of Concord, CA, and Jack D of Martinez, CA; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Challacombe and Fickel.
