Carolyn Frost---GEORGE / YETTER / WASHER---August 5, 2000
Looking for information on Jeremiah Brenner George, Franklin B. Yetter and Willy Washer. I am inclined to believe that J.B. George and Franklin B. Yetter (brothers - in - law) might have had "timber claims" in South Bend at or around Smith Creek. They would have been in the area from about 1890 to 1904. My Grandfather Jeremiah Brenner George was in the South Bend area when his daughter Edna was born on 9/30/1891 at Smith Creek. I was told that he was involved in the leather business in some way. Both JB George and F.B.Yetter came to Smith Creek from Lake City, Iowa. I don't know where the Washer family fits into the scheme of things but I know that they were all in the Smith Creek area at about the same time. I would appreciate any information at all regarding these three families. Thank you. I can be reached by e-mail at celsiegf@home.com

Tom O'Neil---SALMON PUDDING---Thur. Feb. 4, 1999
This writer grew up in Tokeland in Pacific County. My query is not directly connected to genealogy, but Pacific County history. In reading a gazzateer of old businesses, I found something intriquing: In 1908, in Altoona there was a listing that read, "Columbia River Preserving Company, William Dixon, Pres., packers of Columbia River Salmon Pudding." Has any one ever heard of this product? tom21420@comcast.net
Note:  Mr. O'Neil passed away in 2004.  Bruce Weilepp, Director, Pacific County Historical Society, adds, "I have heard of similar canned salmon products intended for "heat and serve" preparation from the early 20th Century.  Two books on early Columbia River canneries are planned for publication some time next year (2006).  The author, Irene Martin, has her own website now."

John Griffin---BULLARD---Thursday February 4, 1999
I am looking for information on Mark W. Bullard who founded the town of Lakeview, Oregon. He settled Lakeview in 1868 and sold out in 1875 or 76. Could he be the same Mark W. Bullard who lived in Pacific County and died in Menlo in 1902? It's been a great mystery to the Lake County Historical Society where our founder came from and went to. Any information will be greatly appreciated. bgriffin@triax.com
