KRAUSE, FRED. I am looking for any information on my great uncle, Fred KRAUSE.He was living in Raymond, Washington on April 1, 1923. He married Laura ZUMWALT on December 19, 1916 in Lewiston, Idaho. Fred died in Ukiah CA on January 7, 1941. Fred was born in Germany, March 18, 1871 and immigrated from Germany to Columbus, Nebraska. Fred arrived in New York from Germany on September 14, 1881 with his parents and siblings. I have no information on his wife, other than her name and when they were married. The surname of Krause, might also be spelled Krouse. The "a" was sometimes mistaken for an "o". Any information on Fred and Laura will be greatly appreciated. Thanks....Jane Case JAnth76724@aol.com

Colleen Russell---Claude C. RUSSELL--- Wed Jul 15, 1998
May have been known as "Charles RUSSELL," "Claude C. HOWARD," or "Charles HOWARD."  Wife - Lela (or Leila).  Three sons, Chet, Clifford (b. 4/29/13), and Perry, all born in Raymond, Pacific County.  Mr. RUSSELL was born in Kansas in 1881 or 1882 and he listed his occupation on Clifford's birth certificate as "Motorman on Streetcar."  Lela Marie (maiden name HOYT) was born in Minnesota in 1892 or 1893.  The surname was changed from HOWARD to RUSSELL, but it is unknown where, when, or why. On April 29, 1913, Claude C. RUSSELL was 31 and Lela was 20.  All three children were born in Raymond.  Claude & Lela RUSSELL eventually divorced, and Mr. RUSSELL moved to California.  Clifford RUSSELL was my paternal grandfather,  he died when I was very young.  Does anyone have knowledge of this family, especially the circumstances which precluded the name change?  Thank you, Colleen Russell, (email address:  jro55@olypen.com)

Pacific County, Willapa or Raymond,Washington.  I am looking for descendants of Mary Birdie (SHOMBER) LAIRD and her husband Joseph Flint LAIRD.  She moved to Willapa from Eastern Washinton ( a now non-existent town of McCall ) between 1921 and 1927 to a house she inheirited from her Uncle Maximillian MABRY.  Her two oldest sons Al and Loren, and her daughter Ada moved with her.  Ada completed high school in Raymond, and her brothers worked in the mills there.  It is my hope to find descendants of the brothers and add their information to the genealogy study of the family that I am doing and give them a copy of the
information that I have accumulated.  I think one of the sons may have been named Bob or Robert LAIRD.  Please respond to sfolston@digisys.net.
