  • 1891-1987 veterans (Washington State Digital Archives): Washington Soldiers Home & Colony. This database includes thousands of veterans or spouses who lived at the Washington State Department of Veterans’ Affairs Soldiers’ Home at Orting between 1891 and 1987. Names and info are from the Application for Admission forms. The forms include the date of birth, occupation, marital status, number of children, nearest relative, residence, length of residence in Washington, military record, and surgeon’s statement. Files may also include official correspondence and other materials.

  • Military records info (SecState.wa.gov): Veterans' Records for Washington State (look towards bottom of page). Filed with the county auditors are military discharge papers ("DD 214's") from WW II forward. Contact the regional branch representing the appropriate county.
