Jeremiah Neterer Family

Jeremiah NETERER also known as "Jere" married Sarah E. BECKER daughter of Joseph  A. & Elizabeth (BECKET) BECKER 25 May 1877.  Jeremiah was born 24 Jan 1862 Goshen, Elkhart, IN, son of Samuel & Elizabeth (HUNSBERGER) NETERER and died 2 Feb 1943 in San Diego, CA. Jeremiah NETERER was a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law in 1885. He came to Blaine in January, 1890 amd resided in Blaine until September, 1890 when he removed to Whatcom. From 1898 to 1901 he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the State Normal school. He served as city attorney of Whatcom and New Whatcom.  He was judge of the U. S. District Court, Western District of Washington, appointed by President Woodrow WILSON and served until his death. The NETERER home was located at 1700 Eldridge Avenue and was built in 1904.

Children:

  1. Samuel Joseph NETERER was born 6 Mar 1888 in Leota, KS.  He graduated from the North Side High School in 1906 and is listed as having attended Pullman College, now Washington State University in the yearbook. In 1912 he is listed as having attending Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA.

  2. Elizabeth NETERER was born 24 Jul 1892 in Whatcom, WA and died in June, 1977, Seattle, WA. She was a graduate of Bellingham High School in 1910.

  3. Inez May NETERER was born 22 May 1894. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1912.

  4. Jeremiah Alden NETERER was born 10 Jul 1900 and died 27 Nov 1991, Santa Barbara, CA. He attended Broadway High School in Seattle WA.
