Joseph Elexander HAMILTON was born 19 Mar 1864 in Gainsville, Hall, GA to James  A. and Melinda Ann (MOORE) HAMILTON. He died 1 Jan 1938 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA and is buried in Van Zandt Cemetery. He was a logger and a farmer. Joseph married 4 Dec 1880 in Iowa Armitta PORTER, who was born 4 Nov 1863 in Greene, Greene, GA to Zedrick H. and Eunice G. (MEDDLIN) PORTER. Armitta died 28 May 1930 and is buried in Van Zandt Cemetery. The HAMILTON family resided for a time at the Fairhaven Hotel before settling on a farm near VanZandt.

1. William Ellis HAMILTON was born 16 Dec 1881 in Arkansas. He died 3 Oct 1931 in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor, WA. William married Florence HALE.  13-year-old son, Almont HAMILTON died in 1923 near Friday Harbor, WA.

3. Berton Galveston HAMILTON was born 11 May 1886 in Arkansas. He died 16 Nov 1969 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA. Berton married Anna TOLLUM who was born 31 Jan 1889 in Lawrence, Whatcom, WA to Christian and Helga (LEE) TOLLUM and died 7 May 1975.  Both are buried in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Lawrence, Whatcom, WA.

Alexander HAMILTON was born 19 Sep 1887 in St. Paul, Madison, Arkansas and died 11 Oct 1969 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA and is buried in Kendall Cemetery.  He married 24 Dec 1906 in Wenatchee, Chelan, WA Lillie Mae ALLEN, who was born 25 Sep 1886 in Castle Rock, Cowlitz, WA to John Henry and Margaret Jane (HOLMES) ALLEN. Lillie died 27 Nov 1969 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA and is buried in Kendall Cemetery.
   
   
5. Gaudalupe "Gordia" HAMILTON was born 29 Sep 1890 in Johnson County, Arkansas and died 28 Nov 1953 in Kendall, Whatcom, WA. She married 14/15 Aug 1906 in Deming, Whatcom, WA, Robert Elmer KENNEY who was born in 1882 in Clayfield County, PA to William T. and Anna M. (KLINE) KENNEY. Robert was a woodsman and died 30 Jan 1938.  Both are buried in Welcome Cemetery.

6. Florence Oda HAMILTON was born 17 Feb 1892 in Arkansas and died 6 Jun 1979 in Arlington, Snohomish, WA.  She married Ernest Stewart WOOD who was born 4 Nov 1885 in KS and died 11/12 Jul 1957. Both are buried in Greenacres Cemetery.

7. Mae Elizabeth HAMILTON was born 24 Feb 1894 in Madison, St. Francis, Arkansas and died 8 Sep 1985 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA. She married 31 Oct 1910 in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA August Frank POTTER who was born 30 Oct 1891 in Ohio to M. S. and Ollie (DODGE) POTTER and died 14 May 1962.  Both are buried in Van Zandt Cemetery.
