Carl G. H. Levien Family

Carl George Heinrich LEVIEN was born 29 Dec 1857 in Grabow, Germany to Johannn Friedrich Wilhelm and Friedrike Elisabeth Sophie (WARNKE) LEVIEN. He married on 17 Sep 1882 in Milwaukee, WI, Mary Margerate HOSTRUP who was born 8 May 1858 in Apendrade, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Mary was the daugher of Andreas Peder and Anna Catharine (SCHLEUSS) HOSTRUP. Carl LEVIEN came to the United States in 1882 and Mary with her family came to the United States in 1885. Upon their arrival in Whatcom County, Carl purchased land in Delta township which was later sold and replaced with a thirty acre tract in Custer township. Carl died 17 Nov 1930 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, and Mary died 28 Oct 1933 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. Both are buried in Blaine Cemetery.

1. Henry George LEVIEN was born 7 Apr 1883 in Milwaukee, WI and died 9 Mar 1960 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. He is buried in Blaine Cemetery. Henry married first on 11 Oct 1903 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, Zelpha Kathleen MOORE, who was born 19 Sept 1886 to Walter and Amanda V. (HAREL) MOORE in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. They were divorced and Zelpha died 29 Oct 1926 in Kelso, Cowlitz, WA, as the wife of L. Ward BRISTOL. On 28 Apr 1909 Henry married Christina Elizabeth MCCALLUM at the old court house in Bellingham, Whatcom, WA. Christina was born 9 Mar 1888 in Bentinck, Grey, Ontario and died 20 Sep 1974 in Tacoma, Pierce, WA. Her remains rest at Fir Lane Memorial Chapel in Tacoma, Pierce, WA. Christina was the daughter of Neil and Elizabeth Ann (FAWCETT) MCCALLUM.
   
   
2. Andrew Carl LEVIEN was born 9 Jun 1884 in Goodyear,  WI and died 5 Mar 1939 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. He married in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, 1906, Mary Bertha PESCHKE who was born 20 Mar 1889 in MN to August John and Mary Agatha (HAGMAN) PESCHKE. Mary died 9 Nov 1962 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. Both Andrew and Mary are buried in Blaine Cemetery.
   
   
3. Fritz Frederick August Valentine LEVIEN was born 9 Aug 1886 in Milwaukee, WI and died 14 Sep 1952 at Neptune Beach near Ferndale, Whatcom, WA. He is buried in Greenacres Cemetery. He married 14 Feb 1914 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, Nita Beatrice MARTIN who was born 31 Oct 1883 in Detriot, MI to Henry Jacob and Carrie (BOLDT) MARTIN. Nita died  1 Nov 1939 in Ferndale, Whatcom, WA; cremation with ashes scattered.
   
   
4. Charles Frederick LEVIEN was born in August, 1887 in Goodyear, WI and died 31 Jan 1944 in Nome, AK. His wife's name was Frances.
   
   
5. Anna F. LEVIEN was born 26 Mar 1888 in Goodyear, WI and died in October, 1976 in Seattle, King, WA. She is buried in the Blaine Cemetery. Anna married Sam MALSAGOW in Nome, AK. Sam was born 15 May 1879 in Odessa, Russia.
   
   
6. August LEVIEN was born and died in 1889.
   
   
7. Herman Rudolph LEVIEN was born 17 Jul 1890 in Delta Township, Whatcom, WA. He died 5 Oct 1918 in a battle in the Argonne Mountains, in France. He was buried in Blaine Cemetery 8 Jan 1922.
   
   
8. August Peter LEVIEN was born 14 Aug 1892 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA and  12 Aug 1964 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. He married 16 Jan 1918 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, Mattie Catharine LARSON who was born 28 Aug 1894 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, to Lars Peder and Mary Kristine (PETERSON) LARSON. Both are buried in Enterprise Cemetery.
   
   
9. Mary Christina J. LEVIEN was born 16 Feb 1894 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA and died in 1973 in Seattle, King, WA. She married 14 Dec 1916 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA, Carsten P. GLOSLIE who was born 20 Nov 1879 in Nettedal, Norway to Julius and Thirine (STROM) GLOSLIE and died in July, 1967 in Blaine, Whatcom, WA. Both are buried in Blaine Cemetery.
