Wahkiakum County Eagle-May 4, 1995 Wright, Mark Steven Mark Steven Wright, 43, Longview, died of natural causes April 29, at St. John Medical Center. He was born January 19, 1952, in Oceanside, Calif., to John H. and Gladys (Wegdahl) Wright, and moved to the Cathlamet area in 1961. After graduating from Wahkiakum High School in 1970, he attended Central Washington University for three years. He sold real estate in Vancouver and Longview before he went to work at Crown Zellerbach in Cathlamet. In 1979, Mr. Wright went to work for Knappton on the tow-boats, moving to Cowlitz County at that time. He was a tugboat captain for many of his 16 years with Knappton. He was a member of the Three Rivers Golf and Men’s Club. His favorite pastimes included golfing, camping and water skiing with his family and friends. He and his wife, Terry, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on April 7 of this year. She survives him at home. Other survivors include a daughter, Wendy Wright of Longview; a son, Wayne Wright of Longview; his parents, Gladys and Dave Spooner of Cathlamet; a sister, Kris Sudar of Longview; two brothers, Allen Wright of Cathlamet and Grant Wright of Yakima; a niece; six nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His father, John H. Wright, died in 1967. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran church on Puget Island with Pastors Cliff Weimer and Bob Giles officiating.
