Newspaper unknown-February 1964 WINTER, Jennie Mrs. Jennie Winter was born in Benson, Minn. and died in a Longview hospital. She was a teacher in Skamokawa schools from 1905 to 1911 when she moved to Watcom County as superintendent of schools. She held this post for eight years. Following this, she taught many years in Bellingham until she returned to Skamokawa where she taught until her retirement in 1947 at the age of 72. She made her residence in Longview for the last four years. Survivors include a daughter, Lyla Freitag of Marysville, two sisters, Phoebe Brown of Longview and Josephine Erp of Astoria; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Skamokawa Methodist church with Rev. John Freeman officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
