WIEST, Donna M.	

  Age 72, of Cathlamet, died in Longview.  She was born in Baker, Ore., 
to George and Nellie (Tooms) Waltz, and moved to Cathlamet when she was 
6 months old.  She attended grade school in Skamokkawa and high school 
in Cathlamet.  She was raised in the Baptist faith.
  She and her husband, Raymond Wiest, worked their farm in the 
Elochoman Valley for many years until his death in 1963.  She worked at 
the Hendrickson Meat Locker for several years before going to work as a 
nurses aide at Columbia View Nursing Home, where she spent 22 years.
  She enjoyed camping and traveling.  She liked to do needlework and 
make hooked rugs.  Her greatest joy was her family.
  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, 
Chuckie Wiest, in 1963.
  Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Montgomery of Cathlamet and 
Kathy Wiest of Rainier; a son, John Wiest of Longview; a sister, 
Marlene Slemp of Portland; five grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild.
  A memorial service was held Friday at Dowling Funeral Chapel in 
Cathlamet.
