The Wahkiakum County Eagle-Thursday, May 3, 1979 Lyle Leroy Westbrook A former fire warden for the Department of Natural Resources, Lyle Leroy Westbrook, 60, died April 30, 1979, in a Longview hospital. Mr. Westbrook had also worked in the Forestry Department of the DNR. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Born September 13, 1918, in South Beloit, Ill., he had lived in this area since 1946. Surviving him are his wife, Jeannette, at home; two daughters Lyla Sorsen of Puget Island and Carol Parks of Georgia; three sons, Raymond of Everett, David of Cathlamet and Paul who is stationed in Germany and with the U.S. Army; two stepdaughters, Patti Bergseng of Puget Island and Julie Burdick of Cathlamet; a sister, Waunda Watson, and a brother, Lowell Watson, and a brother, Lowell Westbrook, both in Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Dowling Funeral Chapel in Cathlamet. The Rev. Paul Roper will officiate. The concluding service and interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
