Unknown Newspaper-March 1985 WENDELIN, Ernest W. Age 68, of Grays River, died in a Longview hospital. He was born in Lincoln, Neb., and received his schooling at Crete, Neb. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Since 1945 he had resided in Grays River where he was a grocery store owner and postmaster for a short time and ran a dairy farm until 1968. After retiring from the dairy business he was employed as custodian at the Rosburg Elementary School for seven years. He and his wife, the former Virginia King, were married November 1, 1944, at Ilwaco and made their first home at Long Beach. She survives him at their home in Grays River. Also surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Linquist of Grays River; a brother, Edwin C. Wendelin of Longview; and two grandchildren, Jeff and Mindi Linquist of Grays River. Services were Saturday at the Naselle Assembly of God Church with Rev. Melvin Veland and the Rev. Alfred M. Olson officiating. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
