Wahkiakum Eagle-November 1998 WEBB, Robert Billings Age 91, a resident of Wahkiakum county since 1942, died at his Skamokawa home. He was born at Seattle, an identical twin, to Charles and Louise Billings Webb. He graduated from Monroe High school in the mid-1920's and received a Masters Degree from Oregon State College in Agronomy. Bob and Muriel Webb were married in Corvallis, Ore. In 1931. His early career was spent as a plant scientist doing research in Oregon and California. In 1942 the Webbs moved to Skamokawa where they operated a dairy farm until 1954. Then he began working as conservationist for the United States Department of Agriculture Soil and Conservation Service. He retired in 1971. He kept weather records for Skamokawa valley area for 35 years. He was a past president of the Washington Assoc. of Conservation districts, Skamokawa Grange life member, Oregon State University Alumni Assoc., Friends of Skamokawa and the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include his wife at home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Rosalie Webb, Frank and Cynda Webb, Jr, and Robert, Jr. and Yvonne Webb, all of Skamokawa; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Arnold Moss of Vancouver; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday at Skamokawa United Methodist church with Rev. Bob Corlett officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
