The Daily News-January 1989 WATKINS, Ervel A. Age 63, of Cathlamet, died at home. She was born in Kelso. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mother to her grandson, Jason Watkins. She was active in the Cathlamet HOST program for many years and was a past member of the Cathlamet Woman's Club. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed fishing in her younger days. She and her husband, Wilbur "Swede" Watkins, were married Dec. 31, 1946, in Longview, and had made their home in Cathlamet all their married life. In addition to her husband and grandson, Mrs. Watkins is survived by a daughter, Kathy Durrah of Cathlamet; a son, Marshall Watkins of Cathlamet; two sisters, Maxine Wegdahl of Cathlamet and Janice Vick of Federal Way, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was Saturday in the Dowling Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Indermark officiating. Ervel A.
