Columbia River Sun-April 18, 1912 Cathlamet, Washington As in the nation at large, the marine disaster in the Atlantic Ocean Sunday night has affected all the citizens of Cathlamet, and in two homes deep sorrow and gloom prevails. Frank M. Warren, who is reported as missing amongst the survivors of the wrecked Titanic, is the uncle of Mrs. Charles H. Warren and Mrs. Nellie G. White. The local cannery was owned by him. As a loving relative and a spirited, upright and square dealing employer, his passing creates profound regret. That he bade farewell to a loving wife and gallantly laid down his life for women and children passengers is the opinion of those who know of fine characteristics and decisive action of the upright canneryman. Frank M. Warren died April 14, 1912 in the sinking of the Titanic. (As transcribed by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society 2011 from it’s original newspaper collection.)
