Varin Marie E. Varin, 76, of 3239 Pacific Way, Longview, died Aug. 4, 1988, at home. She was born March 24, 1912, in Cathlamet and was a lifelong area resident. She was a retired bartender for the Boondox Tavern and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose Alter Society and St. Joseph Circle. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Quigley and Kenneth Quigley, and a sister, Bethina Foster. Surviving her are five sisters, Beryl Benton of Camas, Patricia Good of Castle Rock, Larene Wegdahl and Delores Cochran, both of Cathlamet, and Leona Heywood of Portland; two brothers, Frank Quigley and Lawrence Quigley of Cathlamet; a sister-in-law Rose. Missing information when obituary was clipped… place at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Ryan as celebrant. Concluding service and entombment will follow at Longview Memorial Park with Columbia Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Funeral Fund in care of St. Rose Catholic Church.
