Wahkiakum Eagle-June 1999 UUSITALO, Vilho Bruno 'Bill' Age 89, of Longview, died at a Cathlamet care center. He was born in Negaunee, Mich., to Arthur and Ida (Selin) Uusitalo, and spent his early years in Duluth, Minn., where he and his wife, Taimi, were married on June 4, 1939. They lived in Poulsbo for 45 years, and moved to Longview in August 1993. He worked in the logging business for several years and also fished and mined in Alaska. He worked through Local 51 of the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union out of Port Gamble as a longshoreman for 17 years, retiring in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Taimi, at home; two sons, Arlen of Longview and Duane of Everett; a daughter, Virginia Rogers of Longview; a sister, Irja Peterson of Sitka, Alaska; two grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews. A private memorial service was held at a later date. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
