Johnson 1917 - 2005 Janis Virginia Johnson Turner, 87, of Cathlamet, died Sept. 8, 2005. She was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Sand Ridge, W.Va., to Scott and Della Mae (Weaver) Burns. She graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1935. She moved to the Cathlamet area in the 1940s. On May 9, 1953, she married Roy Johnson. They owned the Riverview Apartments in Cathlamet for 35 years. She also worked at the Columbia View Care Center in Cathlamet. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death in 1985. She later married Ernie Turner. He died in 2004. She is survived by three daughters, Scotty Lance, Charlene Madiman and Ellen Cothren; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowling Funeral Home. A social gathering and luncheon will follow at United Church of Christ (Congregational). The viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Greenwood Mausoleum in Cathlamet. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health and Hospice, P.O.
