Wahkiakum Eagle-July 1999 TOVER, Torvald Oliver Age 73, of Longview, died in a Longview nursing home. He was born on Puget Island, to Henricks and Borgild (Trondson) Tover, and lived in Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties all his life with the exception of his Navy service in WWII. He worked as a sawyer for Weyerhaeuser Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Longview American Legion Post and enjoyed fishing and reading, especially about war history. His wife, Marie Tover, died in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Larry Meade and Bill Tover, both of Kelso; two daughters, Shirley Meigs of Portland and Sandy Osborne of Spanaway; a brother, Harold Tover of Longview; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at Columbia Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ned Landers officiating.
