The Daily News-May 1966 TOVER, Tryvge Age 68, of Cathlamet, died in a Longview hospital. He was born in Tover, Norway. He came to this country in 1914. He moved to Puget Island from Astoria in 1922 and lived in that area since. He was a commercial fisherman. His parents were Ole and Patrina Andersen and he was one of nine brothers and six sisters. All nine brothers were pioneers of Puget Island. After leaving Norway the brothers settled in Tacoma and Astoria and decided to use the name Tover, after their birthplace in Norway. Alfred and Andrew were first to arrive on Puget Island and carved their home sites in the forests and brush that then covered the land in Welcome slough area. The other brothers, Axel, Peter, Otar, Nils, John, Henrick and Trygve followed. They made living by fishing and farming. Survivors include his widow, Hulda, of Cathlamet; three daughters, Thelma Renfro of France, Hildreth Hubbard of Seattle and Florence Hendrickson of Vancouver; one sister, Olea Pedersen of Seattle, and 11 grandchildren. Services will be Saturday in the First Lutheran Church of Puget Island with Rev. L. Kleps officiating. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea of Long Beach is in charge.
