Columbia River Sun-July 29, 1926 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum, WA BOY DROWNED IN COLUMBIA RIVER Telmar Martin Tover, 7 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tover of Puget Island was drowned Sunday afternoon in the Columbia River near his home on the south side of the island. The boy was with his father and brother, who were engaged in the taking small barge of sand to their home. Without any warning, the boy suddenly lost his balance, falling into the water. He had been playing in the sand and the heavy boots he was wearing were full of sand, causing the lad to sink immediately. He did not rise to the surface again, and the brother and father, neither able to swim, were neither able to jump in for the boy. The body was discovered later. Funeral services were held from the Hughes mortuary Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at Greenwood, Astoria, Oregon. Besides his parents, the deceased is survived by a sister, Pearl Tover, and a brother, Obert Tover.
