Wahkiakum Eagle-September 1998 TARABOCHIA, Anthony John 'Tony' Age 71, died at Columbia View Care Center, where he had lived for several years. He was born in Kalama, to Dominic and Anna (Marine) Tarabochia, and was a resident of Wahkiakum County most of his life. In his early years, he lived in the Wahkiakum County communities of Brookfield and Pillar Rock, and attended the Brookfield school. As a young adult, he had a small store at Pillar Rock, where he sold to commercial fishing families. He was also a commercial fisherman and a former member of the Columbia River Protective Fisherman's Union. In the mid-1950's he moved to Skamokawa. He loved horses and enjoyed playing the accordion. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph of Skamokawa and Dominic of Woodland; a sister, Katherine Korff of Astoria; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass at St. Catherine Catholic Church was held September 4 with Father Scott Connolly as celebrant. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
