The Wahkiakum County Eagle-Thursday, December 15, 2010 Jack A. Sullivan Cathlamet resident, Jack A. Sullivan, 86, passed away December 13, 2010 at Columbia View Care Center. He was born May 15, 1924 in Marcus, to Dennis and Sue (Newland) Sullivan. He married Lois King on May 29, 1960 in Portland, Ore. and together they moved to Cathlamet in 1986; she survives him at home. Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He logged and worked construction as well as owned and operated his own fishing boat “The Mariner” in the Pacific Ocean for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan. In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by his daughters, Leslie Sullivan of Cathlamet and Lisa Miles of LaGrande, Ore.; a stepson, Steven Claar of Bend, Ore.; a sister, Bonnie Rae Sullivan of Cathlamet; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Sullivan and a sister Lois Wilks. There will be no service at his request. Private entombment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack Sullivan’s name to Shriner’s Hospital, 3101 SE Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, OR 97239-3009. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
