Published in The Daily News on 6/23/2004. Sudar, Nick 1914 - 2004 Nick Sudar, 89, of Kelso, died June 20, 2004. He was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Bear Creek, Mont., and moved to Longview when he was 6 years old. Mr. Sudar worked in the woods and at Long Bell before serving in the Army Air Corps in Japan. He later worked for Pacific Wood Treating in Ridgefield, Wash., and owned and operated a logging business with his brother, Tony, for many years. He retired in 1964. In 1960, he married Hilda Petersen. She preceded him in death in 2000. Survivors include four brothers, Joseph Sudar, John Sudar, George Sudar and William Sudar; three sisters, Mary Burdick, Anne Howell and Nellie Eterno; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Kelso. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southwest Washington Chapter, 192 Nickerson St., Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98109.
