Wahkiakum County Eagle-September 1996 Elizabeth "Liisa" Stanley Age 83, died in a Longview medical center. She was a long-time resident of Puget Island. She was born at Brookfield, the daughter of Paul and Imi Aalotonen Lindwall. She married Norman Stanley, Aug. 19, 1930 in Vancouver. They lived all of their married life on Puget Island where they built their home in 1939. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and loved to crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Puget Island Grange and Puget Island Community club. Her husband Norman died June of this year. Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Backman of Stayton, Ore., Jeanette Gisselberg of Shelton and Geri Smith of Logan Lake, British Columbia; two sisters, Helen Seaberg of Puget Island and Esther Creech of Anchorage; a brother, Bub Lindwall; 10 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Celebration of life of Norman and Liisa Stanley was held at their Puget Island home Oct. 19. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
