The Wahkiakum County Eagle-December 18, 2008 Darrel M. Sellards Cathlamet resident, Darrel Morgan Sellards, 71, passed away December 15, 2008 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1937 in Longview to Roy and Melba (Morgan) Sellards. He grew up in Cathlamet, attending Wahkiakum schools. He served in the US Navy from 1951-55. He moved to Prince of Wales Island, AK from Cathlamet in 1972 and came back to Cathlamet in 1994. He worked for Louisiana-Pacific in Ketchikan , AK for 20 years and after coming back to Cathlamet, worked for Bob Olsen Logging, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, his dogs and raising horses. He is survived by sons, Ed, Scott, Monte and Trace Sellards; daughters, Shelley McAleny and Tracie Barlow; step-children Debbie Brown, Delbert, Don and Denise Sellards; sisters Sharon Skoutas and Karen Sellards and many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sons Cole and Clay Sellards; daughters Connie Sellards, Elliott and Tammy Sellards and his beloved friend Dorothy Rose, who preceded him earlier this year. No services are to be held at his request. Donations in his memory may be made to Cathlamet First Aid Division PO Box 142 Cathlamet, WA 98612. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
