The Wahkiakum County Eagle-August 4, 2005 CARL SEABERG Carl Ludwig Seaberg, 86, died July 16, 2005. He was born May 17, 1919 at Puget Island where he had lived all his life. Mr. Seaberg was the son of Arthur and Christine (Torvik) Seaberg and graduated from Wahkiakum High School with the Class of 1938. On December 27, 1946 he was married to Beverly Jacobsen. He worked in the construction and logging industry and was a Crown Zellerbach Corporation “stacker” operator for 23 years. He also served in the Army during World War II, spending four years in the European theater of operation. Hunting and fishing and family were high priorities for him. He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 5297, a life member of the Sons of Norway Lodge and the Wahkiakum Historical Society. Survivors include his wife Beverly at home; a son and daughter-in-law Paul and Alice Seaberg of Longview; a sister Ardette Jacobson of Longview; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and special hunting partner and friend Gordy Souvenir of Cathlamet. He is preceded in death by two sons David Seaberg and Arthur Seaberg; four brother Edward, Harvey, Edward and Robert Seaberg; twin sister Mildred Davis; and sister Gladys Powell. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday September 3, Labor Day, at the Seaberg Family Annual Picnic. Memorials to the Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview are suggested.
