The daughter of Otelious and Eulalie Olsen Jacobsen she was born on Puget Island on July 31, 1928. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1946 and moved to Longview in 1947 where she married Harold Saucer on July 1947. Mrs. Sauer was atalented artist in oil, and tole painting. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved the water, camping, traveling, canoeing. She enjoyed clam digging, card games, swimming in Birnie Slough, and water aerobics at the YMCA. She celebrated a wonderful birthday on the day she died. Survivors include her husband at home, son Bernie W. Sauer, of Longview,two daughters, Kathy Freestone of Coeur D Alene, Idaho, and Eileen Gilbertsen of Longview, brother Frank Jacobsen of Puget Island, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service held Monday Steele Chapel, with Don Sheldon officiating. Interment was at Longview Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
