The Daily News-October 1991 ROSE, Denzel Arden Lifetime Cathlamet resident, died in St. Helens, Ore., as a result of a logging accident. He was born in Cathlamet and was an independent log truck driver. He had served in the Air Force. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid horseman. He and his wife, Shirley Rose, were married 27 Feb. 1986. She survives him at home. Also surviving are four sons, Denzel, Jr. of Longview, Edward E. of Castle Rock, Frederick J. of Longview and Lawrence D. of Cathlamet; three daughters, Catherine D. Markwell of Castle Rock, Denise J. Rickey of Vancouver, and Brandi Corey of Longview; his mother, Myrtle Rose of Cathlamet; two brothers, Lawrence D. of Rosburg and Michael of Cathlamet; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick in 1951 and David in 1991. Services were held Saturday at the UCC Church in Cathlamet with Rev. Joan Ham officiating.
