Wahkiakum County Eagle-November 1996 Shirley Anne Raistakka Naselle resident died in Ilwaco. She was born in South Bend, to Rueben and Lucille (Oman) Penttila. She grew up in the South Bend/Pacific Beach area, and moved to Naselle, where she graduated from high school and was a graduate of a beautician college. She and Phillip Raistakka were married Aug. 6, 1955, in Naselle. They lived in Tacoma before returning permanently to Naselle in 1967. She was a homemaker and operated a beauty shop from her residence. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making, crocheting, and helping to cater social events in the area. Her grandchildren and family life were special to her, and she had many friends. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Phillip, at home; a son, Steven of Vancouver; two daughters, Debra Chavez of Ocean Park and Deanna Wilson of Naselle; her mother, Lucille Penttila of Vancouver; two sisters, Nancy Popham of Vancouver and Joan Wong of Seattle; and three grandchildren. Graveside services were held Friday with Rev. John Indermark officiating. Arrangements were by Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach.
