The Daily News-October 1995 Thelma J. Prestegard 79 of Puget Island, died Oct. 15, 1995 in a Cathlamet nursing home. She was born July 30,1916 in South Bend, Washington, to Otilius and Eulalia Olsen Jacobson, and in 1925 she came to Cathlamet, where she attended school. She and Kenneth Prestegard, were married married Jan.23, 1937 in Vancouver, Washington and lived all their married life on Puget Island. Mrs. Prestegard loved homemaking and her family. She was a member of the Puget Island Sons of Norway, and Last Tuesday Club. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, at home, two daughters, Loretta Chevalier, of Quad City, Illinois and Darlene Sellards, of Centralia Washington: two sons Rodney Prestegard of Puget Island, Greg Prestegard of Longview, Washington and two sisters, Edith Sauer of Longview, and Margaret Meier of Winter Park, Florida., a brother, Frank Jacobson of Puget Island; 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers Erling, Carl, and Leif, and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Dowling Funeral Home with the Rev. Irene Martin officiating.
