The Daily News Posted: Monday, July 12, 2010 8:51 am Eva K. Prepula It is with great sorrow that the family announces Eva K. (Tienhaara) Prepula passed away on July 4, 2010, at the home of her son, Richard, and daughter-in-law, Irene, in Battle Ground, Wash. Eva was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Mulino, Ore., to Jacob and Sanna Tienhaara. Her family moved to Naselle when she was 5 years old. Upon her graduation, she moved to Astoria, where she met and married Robert Prepula on April 12, 1942. They moved to Portland, where they lived until Robert began service with the Army during World War II. When the war ended and Robert returned home, they lived in Astoria for a short time before moving to Altoona, where Robert managed the cannery for the Columbia River Packers Association. They lived there for 14 years. In 1961, Robert and Eva moved their family to Longview. Eva did clerical work for Weyerhaeuser for several years before working for and retiring from the Port of Longview. After retirement, she and Robert spent many winters traveling to Southern California and Arizona in their motorhome. Eva greatly enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved family get-togethers and holding a new great-grandchild was always a highlight. Survivors include sons Robert Prepula Jr. of Kalama and Richard (Irene) Prepula of Battle Ground; daughter Susan (Jim) Hubly of Bellevue, Wash.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Robert in 2007 and son William Prepula in 1991. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. July 17 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Longview. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory is in charge.
