Wahkiakum Eagle-January 1997 PEEK, Robert Ladean Age 61, of Cathlamet, died in an area hospital. He was born in Akron, Colo., the son of Robert and Lena (Hoyer) Peek. He had been a Cathlamet area resident since he was in seventh grade. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School and attended Lower Columbia College in Longview. He served in the Navy and was a Seabee for four years. He worked for the Wahkiakum Road Department and was a deputy sheriff for a time. He married Lyla Westbrook in 1958. He married his wife, Sharon Wilkins in 1976 in Cathlamet and they opened Sunrise Realty in Cathlamet in November of that year. He enjoyed cattle farming, spending time with his family and hunting. He was an active member of the Puget Island Grange and had served as a past master. He was also a member of the National Association of Realtors and of the Wahkiakum Lions club. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, at home; two daughters, Margie Williams of Kalama and Brenda Peek of West Valley, Utah; a son, Raymond Peek of Puget Island; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Bigler of Cathlamet; two stepsons, Robert Wilkins of Lakeland, Fla. and Richard Wilkins of Bozeman, Mont.; his mother, Lena Peek of Cathlamet; a brother, Roger Peek of Marysville; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at Dowling Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Gerlach officiating.
