Wahkiakum Eagle-February 1998 PAVOLA, Sigrid Gertrude Age 89, a Naselle resident, died in Long Beach. She was born in Naselle, the daughter of Finnish immigrants Charles and Sandra Kentala Hunter. She grew up in Naselle and received her schooling there. She married W. John Pavola in Naselle where they established a home. He logged and they lived in Raymond, North River, Elk River and Grayland, until returning permanently to Naselle 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Community Congregational church of Naselle. She was an original member of the Helping Hands Sewing Circle at the church. She enjoyed many friendships through the Friday Club and luncheons at the Rosburg hall. An avid Scrabble player, she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her laid- back, non-judgmental personality. She is survived by a son, Leland 'Sam' Pavola of Naselle; grandchildren, Dale Pavola, Curtis Pavola and Keri Seed; niece Carolyn Plummer; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, John, died in 1985 and three brothers and three sisters died earlier. Funeral services were Saturday at Community Congregational Church in Naselle. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
