Obituaries

Ione I. Orth

Ione I. Orth, 78, died September 28 at her Cathlamet home.  She was the 
daughter of Robert and Maude Irving.  She was born December 20, 1922 in 
Cathlamet and was a life long resident.

She married John Orth December 13, 1951.  Mrs. Orth was a 1941 graduate 
of Wahkiakum High School, a homemaker and a long time Red Cross 
volunteer with the blood bank a special interest.

She was a 50-year member of the Wahkoma Chapter of the Eastern Star and 
served as Rainbow advisor for many years.  Her flower garden was one of 
her interests as well as handmade gifts and stitchery.

Survivors include husband, a sister Jean Bussone of Chinook and several 
nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m., graveside at Greenwood 
cemetery.  JoAnn Prestegard will officiate.

Memorial suggestions include Cemetery District No. 1 of Cathlamet and 
Community Home Health and Hospice of Longview.

Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
