The Eagle-July 13, 1951-Page 1 SELF INFLICTED SHOT FATAL TO ISLAND YOUTH. Einar Olsen, 26 years old, of Puget Island took his life early Sunday morning with a 22 caliber pistol in a field near his home, according to County Coroner Mitchell Doumit. His mother, Mrs. Inga Olsen reported that Einar came home about 2 a.m. and turned on the light in the kitchen and the light in his room and then turned on his radio. When she awoke again about 4 a.m. she noticed the lights were still on so she decided to get up and turn them off. As she passed his room she noticed an empty holster lying on a chest of drawers and investigated. She saw a nearly illegible note saying “find me.” Doumit reported that the suicide might have been the result of despondency, and other sources reported that Olsen threatened to take his life on previous occasions. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Inga Olsen and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth McNally. Sheriff Robert Weister and Doumit investigated the case. Hatton’s Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
