  Born in Pyhajoki, Finland, died in a Longview hospital.  He
had been a resident of Eden Valley for 67 years.
  Surviving are the widow, Sophie; two sons, Carl of Eden Valley and 
Alexander of Astoria; a daughter, Ellen Zankich of Seaside; five 
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were Tuesday at Grays River Methodist church, with 
Rev. John Freeman officiating.
  Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, was in charge.
