The Eagle, Cathlamet, Washington - Thursday, January 15, 1942 C. G. Monroe Dies at Skamokawa Skamokawa, Jan. 13 - Clifford G. Monroe, aged 64 years, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Saturday, January 10, at his home here. Mr. Monroe was born December 31, 1877, in California and for the past 39 years has made his home in Skamokawa. Mr. Monroe had been in poor health for several years and was forced because of his health to give us his position as a clerk in the Skamokawa Farmers' Creamery store. He was very active member of the Red Men lodge. Funeral services, under the direction of Hatton's Funeral Parlor, were conducted Tuesday at the Community church, Rev. W. W. Head spoke and Mrs. John Harrow and Mrs. Emma Martin sang. Pall bearers were James Kelly, J. O. Lott, Frank Brooks, Alex French, Albert Martin and Goden iest. Concluding services were at Fern Hill cemetery. Mr. Monroe is survived by his widow, Mary Monroe, a son, Claude, of Seattle, a sister, Mrs. Delia Foster of Eugene, a brother, Napoleon Monroe of Portland and a cousin, Alex Monroe of Cathlamet.
