This person was a pastor in Grays River so thought we should include. --Kari R. Scott Mitchell 1952 - 2004 R. Scott Mitchell, 52, of Portland, died Sept. 22, 2004. He was born June 19, 1952, in Longview and grew up in Moses Lake, Wash., Longview, Coos Bay, Ore., Eureka, Calif., and Beaverton, Ore. He graduated from Aloha High School in 1970, attended Capernwray Bible School in Lancashire, England, and was a 1977 graduate of Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. He received a master's of counseling degree from Winnipeg Theological Seminary in Manitoba, Canada. Pastor Mitchell served the Valley Bible Chapel in Grays River for seven years, ministered as dean of men at Prairie Bible College, was a counselor through Agape Youth and Family Ministries in Milwaukie, Ore., and most recently served as minister at Cedar Mill Bible Church. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Connie Mitchell; three children, Jonathan Mitchell, Sadie Mitchell and Chad Mitchell; his parents, Ron and Arlis Mitchell; two brothers, Jerry Mitchell and Wade Mitchell; two sisters, Joni Ewing and Tracey Lussier; 17 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 N.W. Cornell Road, in Portland. The viewing will be held from 2:30 to 9 p.m. today at Spring and Son Funeral Home in Aloha, Ore.
