The Wahkiakum County Eagle-March 19, 2009 Arthur W. McLain Rosburg resident, Arthur W. McLain, 78, passed away March 6, 2009. He was born in Nome, Alaska on June 25, 1930 to Arthur T. and Caroline M. (Stipek) McLain. He lived in Nome until 1952, graduating from Nome’s high school in 1948. He married Dorothy Ann Carlson in Nome on July 25, 1952. He then served in the US Army from 1953-1955; he was with the 467th CIC detachment at Ft Richardson and resided at Anchorage. They moved on to Seattle from 1956 –1973 and he graduated from A & P school for aircraft mechanics, in 1958. They then moved to Burlington, CA in 1973, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic, until he retired in 1991. After retirement, the McLains made a final move to Rosburg, WA, residing there until his death. Some of his various hobbies were photography, gardening and doing house repairs. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy at home in Rosburg; son, Brian T. McLain of Shoreline; sister Caroline Reader of Nome, Ak; nine nieces and five nephews. He is preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Rolfson and Marjorie Smith. No services are to be held, at the deceased’s request.
