The Daily News- Longview, Wa.-January 1988 McDERMOTT, Prace Age 82, of Ocean Park, Wa., died at Olympia. He was born in Dermott, Texas, a town founded by his grandfather. He and his family later moved west, traveling by covered wagon. He was a construction worker in Cathlamet from 1929 to 1947. He then lived in Castle Rock, where he operated the Pastime Tavern for 10 years with his wife, Lucille. After living in Kalama, where he ran the Keys Tavern for 10 years, he returned to Castle Rock. He was a lifetime member of the Kelso Elks and a member of the Ocean Park Eagles, Aerie 3602. He and his wife, Erma, who survives him at home, moved to Ocean Park in 1982. He is also survived by two sisters, Gladys Nollner and Vivian Lewis, both of North Bend, Ore.; two stepsons, Bob Whitney of Ilwaco and Vernon Whitney of Olympia; ten step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Patty Neilson of Portland. The funeral was held Tuesday at Hubbard Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Murray Hyde officiating.
